MzNelly:He here telling you he didn't believe in god makes your claim demonstrably wrong |

johnydon22:I just don't get why you don't believe in God. Your arguments don't seem solid enough to me. I am a misotheist. I believe He exists, but I don't like him very much. And with the way you speak about him, you don't like him either. So why tag yourself an atheist? Adon unstern ![]() |

![]() johnydon22:hahaha. Shocking people still believe in zeus. Also, I'm gradually freeing myself from jumping to conclusions. I still do that every once in a while. Also, I guessed moses couldn't have wrote the entire Torah because it WAS long. It's a set of five really length books filled with nonsense details. Also, the biography of Moses was written in third person. But I've always been told moses wrote that. So . . . moses definitely wrote it. ![]() Also, I never even cared about the kids. The bible painted the whole city as a man only city. Full of gay rapists. Now that I think of it, why did lot stay there in the first place unless he was actually okay with what they were doing? And if he was, how the hell is he innocent? ![]() So many questions . . . without answers. Because God works in mysterious ways. Yeah right . . . |

MzNelly:They are to me actually. . . And am sure to many.. it needn't be to you... I am a misotheist. I believe He exists, but I don't like him very much. This position stems from inability for one to independently allow the implausibilities in such concepts slip away.. You just can't take letting go all you believe rather you just hate it.. And with the way you speak about him, you don't like him either. Lmao... another unfounded assumption about me please for a second time do not make more assumptions about me. . I don't appreciate that.. Let me establish once again that i in no way not even in the least share any emotional feeling towards any God. Not islamic Allah not yahweh not brahma not zeus not amadioha not krishna not lucifer these are just ideas to me and a vague one at that.. One cannot hate ideas rather ideas are refuted.. And yes i am an atheist because i only disbelieve these concepts and do not hate them.. only thing that gives me concern is the effect the disturbing beliefs that comes with these concepts are having on the intellect of our youths . . like who think science is satan handiwork.. |

| Re: I Wish There Was A God (A Reply) by Nobody: 12:27am On Oct 14, 2015 |
MzNelly:atheists don't hate God. We do not believe he exists at all. So, we do not hate him because one only hates something he believes in. What we hate is that people keep trying to twist logic and they keep running around to prove he does. And even resort to insults when the person they are trying to protect is not real. seriously. Replace The word "God" with "Darkseid" in every post on Nairaland. And you'll see why it's so annoying. You know, maybe I should start worshiping darkseid even, there is a lot of evidence that he is real, |

Teempakguy:Take it easy. You're a newly converted atheist. You're still confused about how you feel. It shows in your diary post. Better chill for a week or two. ![]() |

MzNelly:Please that i refute these ideas is because of it's disturbing effect on our society of which affects me too because i am in the society like everyone else.. So in case you discuss with some other person that might not be me, do not assume up things about the person. I find such assumptions really infuriating... |
| Re: I Wish There Was A God (A Reply) by johnydon22(op): 12:34am On Oct 14, 2015 |
MzNelly: Lol... at converted. . . am not sure anybody converted him though.. But remember he passed through a misotheistic stage of which you agree to be on now.. so i suggest you just don't put mind in thinking about these concepts or joining him won't be far |
| Re: I Wish There Was A God (A Reply) by Nobody: 12:46am On Oct 14, 2015 |
johnydon22:You converted him. And a number of other people.... You must feel very proud. ![]() I don't even know if I won't die before I complete this so-called stage you call it. I'm literally losing my mind. I don't know how someone is a Christian and the next minute he is an atheist. How does that even happen? Were you ever a Christian even? |

MzNelly:why do you keep saying things as if you know them? ![]() Now I have to give you a lengthy reply just to explain myself. 1. No one converted me. Except maybe one christian guy who dared me to seek the face of god. That he would reveal himself. He lost the bet. ![]() But seriously though. There's nothing like conversion. More like decision based on logical conclusion. 2. The very fact that am agnostic means that I'm not confused, if you read a lot of fiction stories, you'll gain the ability to understand the mood of the writers by just reading their works. The Torah, was written by individuals who desperately wanted to explain their existence. They just really wanted to explain it so badly that they invented a story of it. 3. I only show confusion to prove that the bible is illogical, and therefore invalid. Wouldn't you be confused if you tried to see the sense in the massacre that God did in David's reign? It goes like this, god caused David to conduct a census. But if a census was conducted, God would be angry. So, god caused David to conduct a census, so he could get angry and then kill many Israelites. While heaping the blame on David. Or if you tried to see the sense in God making human beings out of sand. When we are clearly made out of carbon. Which has 8 electrons 8 eight protons less than silicon which is the element sand is made off. They most probably made that ridiculous assumption because skin color looks like sand. Who knows? 4. I don't feel. I think. You should have seen that from my diary too. I'm an extremely logical person. Almost robotic. |

| Re: I Wish There Was A God (A Reply) by johnydon22(op): 1:01am On Oct 14, 2015 |
MzNelly:lmao... i thought my arguments weren't solid enough.. i wonder how it could be that effective..Please i did not convert anybody and am sure i have never told anybody, leave theism and become an atheist... In fact most people who come to me asking questions emanating from the effect of abandoning religion, even tell them they don't necessarily need be atheistic just always use their reason and consistent logic in judgement.. i will add a screen shot to prove this.. And i only make my points and then leave it for people who read to think over, so i am not converting anybody deconvertion is mostly personal ... I don't even know if I won't die before I complete this so-called stage you call it. I'm literally losing my mind. Please don't loose your mind, belief is not worth loosing your mind over... there is a lot this world holds. This your stage i usually call conflict of belief and reason, war between faith and reality.. A lot of pain and joy to experience and a lot of adventures to embark on and live a wonderful free life in a brief colourful world, just don't let this weigh you down.. I wouldn't like add more so as not to be accused of converting .. I don't know how someone is a Christian and the next minute he is an atheist. when you realize all you have been made to believe, indoctrinated into weren't different from others. When you agree with yourself that surely enough there isn't anything backing up the claim of Gods that suggests such lay outs is any more than mere wishful thinking.. Were you ever a Christian even? Probably more than you ever was. . . I was once even a seminarian... i still remember vividly those days. I still enjoy singing most christian songs i love (they are just songs to me) most latin songs.

MzNelly:it wasn't the next minute. It took days . . . weeks even. Of careful experimentation. During which time I wasn't even active on Nairaland. People become atheists when they realize one thing. "God was created, perfected, backed up, established, and promoted, by CENTURIES of trial and error, religion has an evolution of it's own. Religions that were not believable died out. Those that didn't come with fierce races died out as well, Christianity and Islam which survived till today, has adapted to it's environments. They have a lot of loopholes which can be bent and twisted to make them seem acceptable to several consecutive generations." Take this verse. "And he sitteth on the circle of the earth" The writer clearly meant circle. But theists have twisted it to mean sphere. Just to go in line with scientific achievements. It has now gotten to the point where they claim the creation story is an allegory. A metaphor. When it was never mentioned that such was the case. My own misotheist phase lasted about three minutes. As I realized that the story of lot was obviously just a story. It said they lived in a cave, secluded from civilization, that was why his daughters slept with him. Because they couldn't find husbands, So . . . how did the writer know what happened? Did Lot tweet him? |

MzNelly:Hahahaha make we no drag am ![]() I lived with a rev fr for more than 2 years in a village parish though, i literally breathed mass every minute. .I wake up before 5:00am daily in the chilly morning cold of a village to go set up things for mass and set his vestments ready in the sacristy before mass starts. In fact back in those days i rarely entertained having a girl near me in private, could you believe i left the room for a girl because she was touching me.. ![]() I literally lived and breathed Christianity, in fact the church was my life but it was fun most times though, can still remember the large chunk of chicken i munched those days when ever i went on a mass invite or occasion invite with the priest, chai it was feasting things because food for priests are always prepared specially ... & we always went on such calls. I have always been a curious being, i always entertained questions on the disturbing tenets of religion and it made me delve more into study (the rev frs study room was more like a library in fact it exposed me more to critical thinking) and i plunged more into religion in order to discard and escape these questions.. But for where... |
| Re: I Wish There Was A God (A Reply) by Nobody: 1:29am On Oct 14, 2015 |
MzNelly:I literally just became athei . . . agnostic . . . I really should not be going around "preaching" to people. ![]() So, here's what I'm going to say. Conduct your experiment to find God. It's allowed according to the bible. Ask anything. Jesus said. So, just have faith and ask God to reveal himself to you. By either appearing in your dreams(not great evidence) or speaking to you in the presence of a third party so everyone can hear his voice. Gideon performed more ridiculous experiments. Like asking God to set a carcass on fire, or to make cotton wet . . . and God totally did it. I wonder why he has suddenly lost that ability. So . . . if he doesn't, just keep trying. Eventually, no one will have to convert you before you realize how funny the whole thing is. |

Teempakguy: People dubbed me atheistic before i ever referred myself as one, even when i realized i didn't share belief in Gods i still didn't fully embrace that tag.. But when you realize it is merely but a lingual representation or nominal tag for people who share no belief in personal Gods. You realize you don't really need to refer to yourself with what you already are in essence.. |

Teempakguy: Uuhm you are preaching oo ... hahahahaha..just discuss these ideas when you can and leave people to their own personal reason to think for themselves.. |

| Re: I Wish There Was A God (A Reply) by Nobody: 1:36am On Oct 14, 2015 |
MzNelly:there is something remarkable about the human nature. When you discoverer something which is mind blowing and interesting, your first instinct is to share it with everyone you know. At that point, you just assume that everyone will love it. That you just have to do tell them, It wasn't courage per say. It was passion. |

MzNelly:Shine kwa ![]() we are discussing our experiences joooooor... Atheism is boring tho Actually every holiday is applicable to everyone.. Sunday was a roman holiday in worship of the sun God. . but you all keep it as a holiday now. Easter was a pegan feast of the goddess of fertility Ishta.. you keep it.. Christmas well its surely clear .. it is a roman festival of satuenalia and the birthday of the God mithras.. ![]() We enjoy all this holidays with everyone else na.. You need not believe in the God thor to enjoy thursdays.. I mostly enjoy Christmas... ![]() no Sugar Daddy in heaven Hahahaha if there is such a place then it would be crazy boring... imagine doing the same thing (wearing white robes and carrying palm fronds praising a God somehow just is freaky about being praised always).. for 100,000,000 years... hahahahahaha no be me go tell you what you will do.. ![]() "Bleep this, am out of here " won't be far from it .. ![]() If anything is wonderful and beautiful then it is the sadness and happiness, pain and joy, adventures and crazes this world provides.. nothing could be more enjoyable and meaningful than making each moment of this brief colourful life count.. |
