Why was he "fleeing" everywhere he goes upon getting the slightest hint of a request to clear his name if he wasn't guilty?? Why shy away from the courts if you are indeed clean??

This trash from the governor is only aimed at achieving one purpose only- demonise APC in the face of Bayelsans using Alam's death, a gimmick only fools would fall for. In the same breath, they call the people to "revolt" and be "law abiding".

If the PDP thinks politicising this incident is the way to go, then we are more than prepared to have it their way.

The Bayelsa state government can demonise whoever they want and do as they like but does it remove the fact that Alams was a thief. He is also suspected of being culpable in other crimes and he was called to answer for it. If you call that harassing, then that person needs to have his/her heart checked.

I dont know why hypocrites in Nigeria want to play with this the wrong way. Alams was a convicted thief. He was convicted of the crime by a competent Nigerian court and that changes nothing. If he had simply gone to defend the allegations against him in London, he wouldn't be so afraid of Interpol picking him up in UAE and sending him to Britain.

As for those who say I am supposed to feel bad as a human being is dead, did you feel bad when Abacha die? What emotions ran through you when Osama Bin Laden die? If I remember correctly,it was during an independence day celebration,that He was freed alongside some other convicted criminals. On that day,some state governors also granted state pardon to some convicted criminals who were serving terms for robbery and murder. How come nobody seems to be angry and upset with them for releasing armed robbers and murderers back into the society? Why has the focus been on Alams alone? As far as I am concerned,He is no different from the other freed convicts. Moreso,the state governors and president,have the right to grant pardon to who they deem it fit to and like the sentimental Nigerians that we are,Jonathan had no choice than to assist His former boss to get out of jail. This is something most of us will do,if given the opportunity to free someone very close to us,who was convicted of a crime. Let's stop being hypocritical and shouting our lungs out when we know we all aren't saints. Has anyone noticed that Alams case started the moment He granted an interview about the vindictive saintly demon(obasanjo) that resides at Otta? How come this poor man who had next to nothing when He got out of prison in 1999,suddenly became rich and wealthy to the tune of billions of naira after He spent 8yrs as president? In his 8yrs of presidency,what were the major achievements of the saintly thief,in his home town in ogun state? Have we all forgotten so soon that the southwest weren't happy under the Otta general? Have we forgotten so soon how the vindictive demon from Otta,used the EFCC to harrass governors who looted,to do His bidding? Have we forgotten how businessmen and women were harrassed and forced to donate million to build his library at Otta? Have we forgotten how Ghana-must-go bags were frequently moved around the Aso villa under the "pope numero uno"? Have we forgotten that money was shared round to senators to support someone's third term bid? Have we forgotten that those who openly opposed that third term bid,were hounded and sent to jail(even though they were corrupt)? I could go on and on but the truth is this,the fight against corruption has been selective and political. The political camp(not party) that you belong to,determines whether you'd be tried,or allowed to go scott free. Your loyalty in that camp also matters. Case in study,is the recent case against the senate president. If He didn't outsmart His party to become senate president,we wouldn't have heard any nonsense code of conduct bureau garbage. The trial was just a system of whipping him in line. And for as long as we have this system of fighting corruption in place,we'd continually have thieves in power. Afterall,a certain ex governor under the APC is promising to return over 11billion naira He stole in his first tenure,if he is elected back into office. Nobody is asking why the thief is contesting election,and not in jail. A certain ex governor from Bayelsa state has had his case file at the efcc withdrawn,and is also contesting for governorship in Bayelsa;nobody is asking questions. A certain ex governor of Rivers state who has been accused of corruption andhas refused to defend himself before the panel set up to look into the matter,has also been penciled down to become a minister in this current dispensation;nobody is asking questions too. At the end of the day,there are different rules for calling people thieves in Nigeria,and for fighting corruption. Who you dine with,determines whether you'd be given a saintly robe,or a criminal tag. The ultimate losers are the stupid,foolish,daft,gullible,moronic and imbecilic Nigerians who support this type of nonsense. Waiting for Nigeria to be greay under this type of arrangement,is akin to waiting for a chicken to grow teeth.

As a Niger Deltan am just really ashamed and angry the way my people think and how they allow these politicians to divert their minds from their itchy and greedy fingers and lay blames on some other regions that are grappling with their own problems. Anyone on this forum that lives in Warri and still blame the Fulanis, Yorubas etc for his or her woes should have the head examined. If you drive around Warri now you will feel the urge to get any government person and just put a hole in his head.
