I believe it is the same gang that robbed both the Lekki and Ikorodu. Same Modus Operandi. Its high time Lagos has a ready Anti Robbery Squad that will be armed with sophisticated weapons, fast moving cars and boats. That is the only solution.

helicopters would be much better, it would be very difficult chasing armed robbers on Lagos roads but they could easily be picked off from the air by a heavy mounted machine gun.

It may not be the same gang. It could just be that the trend is catching on. Potential robbers just need to scout around for Banks that are not far from the sea or lagoon and believe me such banks are not in short supply.

Someone needs to buy a brain alright. My brother, this arm robbers are prepared as if they are going to war! They came with GPMG's! And no police In any bank can match that sophisticated weapon at that particular moment! And it caught them. Unaware. And besides, that single episode should not make you to tag the whole of Nigeria a failed country! Nigeria is too big for that! And if you do, that means you are clueless!

1. functioning states aren't usually awash with the type of weaponry you mentioned in the first place. That robbers have them is indicative of failure of the security apparatus and therefore the state.

2. In a functioning state, after robberies of this nature, local, state and national resources are immediately deployed to hunt them down. Compare that to the yeye '0-0' statement by the NPF (and that is despite the death of an innocent woman and a child) and tell us again how well it all is with Nigeria.

3. That the robbery went on for hours unhindered represents a complete dereliction of duty by the police whose main duty is upholding law and order and protecting lives and properties.

4. Clueless ? ....... yep, you got me there .

you ve said it all my dear brother! that's the trend now and believe me between now and December more banks will go down especially those close to any creek or river like those on old ojo road down to alakija and probably agbara or badagry side.And trust naija police they wont beef up security around those vulnerable banks and start manning the nearby jetties and synchronizing their communications with other security agency's.

In other news :
Saw these mean looking SARS guys on 23 rd this morning with a van full of boys most probably unfortunate festac boys smoking Igbo @ back of 23rd market! Believe me if their folks don't cough out money on time to gt them out of SARS net na them they go show for TV soonest as d culprits!!! One even hv dis phyno hair style ehh o that guy own don done by now they will be stewing in SARS dungeons and God help them if they come bck alive sef.raiding passersby n wayward boys won't gt d robbers in my own opinion most of d robbers might even be out of Lagos already!!!

Also area commander and dpo shouldn't be spared by d commissioner they were caught napping at their duties they should be sanctioned or demoted as festac hv only 4 entry point and exit namely link bridge ,1st,2nd & 3rd gate so the police need someone to think for them to block those entry/exit and let's see how d robbers wan take go!!!!after all they cool down rob 4 1 hr.
