I was in a wedding ceremony few weeks ago and something i have never seen before happened. I was confused and at the same time dumbfounded, to my greatest amusement this was what happened.

When the wedding ceremony was going on the Master of ceremony (MC), brought the couple out and stood them apart and he said "this wedding ceremony's venue was rented on credit, they need money to pay up. If you know you love this couple come and drop a thousand Naira to bail them out".

I attended a wedding over the weekend and the MC asked two ladies/ushers to stand with bags. Next thing he asked guests *who love the couple and want to marry or have wedding ceremonies for their own children* to come out and place money in both bags.

I was appalled!!!!!!!!!!

Why should they rent a venue they can't afford?

What happened to cutting your coat according to your cloth? Must you rent a venue you can't afford? What stops you from using a family members compound or an open air field??

Were they compelled to have a big wedding? I would never give them a dime.
