"If Victor is fit, he goes off like a rocket," Lettieri said. He has scored a goal in three league games for the struggling team. Ighalo hails superb Eagles after Cameroon rout The Watford forward has heaped plaudits on his teammates for playing a much improved game against the Indomitable Lions which culminated in a thumping in BrusselsStriker Odion Ighalohas praised the team spirit and the commitment of his Nigeriateammates after they defeated Cameroon 3-0 last Sunday in an international friendly match played in Brussels, Belgium. The Eagles were totally outclassed in Thursday's friendly against Congo which they lost 0-2 but Ighalo has heaped plaudits on the reaction of the team in the second game with the Cameroonians which they won comfortably as he scored the third goal. “It was a tough game but we were able to win comfortably because of the impressive way we approached the game from the start to the finish. It was a much more improved game better than the last game with the Congo DR and I must state that if that game is to be replayed now the result would be different," Ighalo toldGoal. The Watford forward beckoned on fans to be patient with the Sunday Oliseh-led technical crew hinting that the team which is still in its formative period would take a bit of time to blend together. “The Eagles played very well and the coaches too did their work well. We need the support of everyone in Nigeria to succeed because we can’t get anywhere in an environment that is not conducive," he said. "We have our image and that of our country to protect and we must do all within our powers to do that." The former Udinese striker noted that the Eagles are headed for the right direction under coach Oliseh and with the support of Nigerians, the senior national team will soon be a force to be reckoned with in Africa and in the world at large. The striker is expected to lead the Eagles' charge for a place in the third round of the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the winner between Swaziland and Djibouti with Swaziland holding a 6-0 cushion secured from the first leg decided in Djibouti. The second leg billed for Tuesday in Mbabane was postponed. m.goal.com/x/en-ng/news/4093/nigeria/2015/10/14/16293232/ighalo-hails-superb-eagles-after-cameroon-rout |

Oliseh: Why Eagles Dazzled Against Cameroon https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oliseh-eagles.jpg By. Johnny Edward: Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has highlighted the motivator factors behind his team’s scintillating showing against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun last Sunday in Brussels, Comple tesportsnigeria.com reports. The Eagles who had earlier lost 2-0 to DR Congo three days earlier following the upheaval between Oliseh and stripped skipper Vincent Enyeama bounced back to winning ways with a 3-0 demolition of Volker Finke's side, to restored public confidence in the team. “Sincerely, we came to Belgium to play Cameroun. That was the first and only game we had to play. We were looking for a second game to play, and initially, we wanted to play Genk, a club side and then they told us Congo was available,” Oliseh further reviewed the match in Brussels. “And I must say that, tactically, we decided to bring our ‘A’ game against Cameroun but that notwithstanding these players are professional players and in the team they see their coach been criticized unfairly with such lies but then again they felt the best way to react was to play well and beat the Indomitable Lions." Oliseh however revealed that he was impressed at the way his players celebrated every goals against Cameroun but was quick to add that the move by the players wasn’t in solidarity for him to keep his job. “I was so impressed each time they scored and they ran towards me to celebrate those goals. To me it was like sending a message to the world. “My job is not at stake, is it by winning friendlies or losing them you get sacked? I just signed and we did that with objectives: qualify Nigeria for the tournaments ahead. The worst is that you get sacked!. “I’m not under pressure as I have experienced it as a player in the past as well." www.completesportsnigeria.com/oliseh-why-eagles-dazzled-against-cameroon/ |

Orkpekyandega:If Carl Ikeme is not V. Enyeama's replacement, then who should be? Is it Akpeyi or who? Among the keepers available. Its only Ikeme that can feel that gap. He mustn't be World Best Goalkeeper before he can replace Enyeama. With K. I's showing during our friendlies, he can do better with enough playing time for both Cub and Country. |

Orkpekyandega:In as much as I don't expect the Super Eagles (Home Based) to loose come Saturday, I think the big or massive win, dreamt by Salami is an over expectation. Majority of the Burkinafaso national players ply their trade in their local league, which is also competitive. Taking a branch also from the last 2013 AFCON finals between the Super Eagles and Burkinafaso, where they gave us a good run for our money, am very much conservative about my expectations. I wish we could win, but the players will have to double their efforts. This match won't come easy. A slim margin win is the highest expection for me. |

Nigeria sports minister - Fashola or Lokpobiri? Fashola and Lokpobiri are to undergo ministerial screening by the senate after they were nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari. A lawyer, Fashola is a well-known Manchester United fan and during his eight-year tenure as Lagos Governor, he got the state government to stage the final of the country’s cup competition. Lokpobiri from Bayelsa State was the chairman of the senate committee on sports until the last general elections. Nigeria: Abdullahi Relishes Super Eagles Experience By David Ngobua Former Kano Pillars midfielder, Shehu Abdullahi is excited after featuring for the senior national team in the two international friendlies against DR Congo and Cameroon in Belgium. The Super Eagles lost against DR Congo 0-2 but rallied back to whip Indomitable Lions of Cameroon 3-0 and Abdullahi saw action in the two matches. Speaking to Daily Trust from his base in Portugal where he plays for Uniao da Madeira in the Portuguese league, Abdullahi said it was dream come true for him. He said the appearances for the Super Eagles would definitely shore up his profile in his club as he said national team players are usually rated highly in their clubs. Abdullahi who lauded Oliseh's tactics also said if given more time, the gaffer would produce a team that will bring back Nigeria's glorious moments. "I am happy that I was given the chance to play in the two international matches. Although we lost one we were able to come back and restore national pride against Cameroon. "For me as an individual, it was a major breakthrough for me. After playing for the National U20 team and the Home-based Eagles, I wished to play for the senior team. God in his infinite mercy has granted my heart desire. "I am back to my base in Portugal and surely my rating in my club is going to rise. When you are a national team player, you enjoy more attention," he said. Although Abdullahi was part of the Super Eagles squad that played Mexico in a friendly in the USA, he was an unused substitute. The Nigeria versus DR Congo game was his debut for the senior national team. allafrica.com/stories/201510140668.html |

Alloy Agu: Eagles On Right Track After Congo, Cameroon Friendlies https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/eagles8.jpg By James Agberebi: Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu has stated that the team's international friendly games against DR Congo and Cameroon is a sign of better things to come. In a chat with comple tesportsnigeria.com, Agu said the team should be commended for their performance in the games. "We are in a process and the process is not yet complete," the former Nigeria goalkeeper told Comple tesportsnigeria.com. "Playing those two games against such opponents and coming out with such results, I think it is something to reckon with and what one should commend the team for. "Keeping a clean sheet against Cameroon after losing 2-0 to Congo, that is the beauty about football. When you least expect to get a result, you end up getting it, you can't predict the game. "We had seven chances against Congo, they had two and they put the two chances away. Against Cameroon, we had chances and we were able to convert three, that is what the game is about. We only hope for better things to come." He went on to express confidence that the Eagles will do everything possible to make sure they don't disappoint in the qualifiers still ahead of them. "Looking ahead to some of the games that are still before us, it is important we take them one after the other. We know what is at stake and every game is so important," he added. "We have the CHAN qualifier against Burkina Faso this weekend, the World Cup qualifier and the Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt. We will do all we can to make sure we put smiles on the faces of Nigerians by coming out victorious in these games." ‘New Finidi’ Aggreh: I Rejected Ghana To Play For Super Eagles https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/prince.jpg Sunshine Starswinger,Prince Aggreh, who is in line to play for theSuper EaglesagainstBurkina Fasothis weekend, tells Comple tesportsnige ria.com'sADEBOYE AMOSUhow he turned down overtures fromGhanaso that he can wear the green and white colours ofNigeriaand the comparisons with the great Finidi George… Your name has caused a lot of debate out there, where exactly are you from? (Laughs)Yes, you are right. I have been approached by a lot of people asking me about my nationality. But the truth is I was born in Sapele, Delta State here in Nigeria. Not only have people approached me, I have also received a lot of calls and text messages from within and outside Nigeria seeking to know if I'm a Nigerian. Can you mention the name of the country that approached you? The Ghanaians have tried to convince me to play for them. I got a call from someone in Ghana maybe a representative of their FA who asked me about my nationality. He said I should ask my parents about my nationality. I just told him straight I am a Nigerian and nothing more. I don't need to ask anybody about that because it's very clear. Were they really desperate to have you play for their national team? I think so because they kept pestering to inquire from my parents the truth about my nationality. In my mind, the only country I know is Nigeria and I was not interested in all what they were saying then. This has been a breakthrough season for you, from a virtually unknown player on the streets to a Nigeria international, how do you feel about it? It's a wonderful feeling. Everything is just about the grace of God. You know how difficult it is to make it as a footballer in this part of the world. It was really tough playing on the streets then, but the desire to wear the national team shirt and play professional football outside the country was a big motivation for me and my friends. Thank God the hard work has paid off today. But I don't think i'm there yet. I want to be a regular starter in the Super Eagles and also play for the biggest clubs in the world. What was is it like for you, your first day in the Super Eagles camp? It was a dream come true for me. It's not something I can describe. I was happy to be in camp with the big boys from Europe. The likes of Ahmed Musa, Emmanuel Emenike and the other guys. If you don't know them, you will think they are difficult guys to mix with, but they are all wonderful people and easy to relate with. They played here in Nigeria before moving abroad, so they encourage us the home-based guys and make us understand that we are all one. It was a big family and I cherish that experience. Many have described you as the new Finidi George of Nigerian football… One thing about football is that you can't totally assess yourself. It is the supporters, fans and media who can always do an objective appraisal of us the players. So, if that is what they think, I believe they are right because they see me play on a frequent basis. Do you see yourself becoming a regular in the Super Eagles? That's my dream, but it's not going to come on a platter of gold. I just have keep working hard to convince the coaches that I'm good enough to earn a starting shirt in the team. But no matter what you do it is the coaches who have the final say on who starts or stays on the bench in every game. You must be thinking of moving abroad anytime soon, are there offers on the table for you at the moment? You are right. That's the dream of every footballer in this part of the world. I would love to play for a big European side one day. It will also be great to play in the big competions like the Champions League and the Europa League. I know it's not going to be easy, but I'm determined not get distracted by the challenges. I want to take it one step at a time and I believe things will work out fine at the end of the day. The English Premier League must be a big attraction for you like other African footballer… Yes, but I don't want to reveal anything at the moment. I have a lot of good offers from clubs in Europe, but I don't want to discuss anything for now. www.completesportsnigeria.com/new-finidi-aggreh-i-rejected-ghana-to-play-for-super-eagles/ |

CHAN: Home Eagles To Host Burkina On Saturday, Not Sunday https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/IMG_20151013_122348.jpg By Sab Osuji: The Championship for African Nations qualifier between the Super Eagles and Stallions of Burkina Faso will now hold on Saturday, Comple tesportsnigeria.com can report. The match was originally slated for Sunday at Adokiye Amiesimaka Sports Complex, Port Harcourt. The venue however remains unchanged. Comple tesportsnigeria.com understands the shift in date was at the instance of CAF who has consequently communicated it to the Nigeria Football Federation. Ademola Olajire, Head of Media, Nigeria Football Federation confirmed the shift in date for the match but did not give further details. “Yes, the match has been shifted slightly. “It will now be played on Saturday at the same venue,” Olajire said. The slight shift in date has forced NFF to adjust their arrangement more so with the Stallions expected to arrive in Nigeria on Thursday. The Super Eagles were billed to round up their preparation for the match with a friendly game un Thursday but that tune-up game has been rescheduled for Wednesday. NFF plans Morocco, Algeria friendly for Eagles https://naijaway.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/oliseh.jpg The Nigeria Football Federation is to open talks with Morocco, Tunisia or Algeria for a friendly ahead of their crunch two-legged AFCON qualifier against Egypt in March, NFF president Amaju Pinnick has said. Nigeria take on Egypt in March in a double header, which could well determine the fate of the Super Eagles for Gabon 2017. Egypt lead the AFCON qualifying group with six points from two matches, two points more than second-placed Nigeria with the overall group winners guaranteed automatic qualification to 2017 AFCON. Pinnick said the NFF are determined to ensure that the Eagles are in the right frame of mind technically and mentally against the record seven-time African champions. “I have asked them to begin to shop for a friendly game against Morocco, Tunisia or Algeria in the next available FIFA window,” he said. “That tells you how important the next AFCON qualifiers are to us. We want to make sure that the Eagles are properly prepared and have an idea of how the North Africans play. “But in any case, coach Sunday Oliseh has already started studying the tapes of the Egyptians and he is preparing the game plans.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/10/nff-plans-morocco-algeria-friendly-for-eagles/ |

joseph1013:Am just so amazed with the kind of cooperation between the NFF and Coach Sunday Oliseh, not just for the friendlies lined up, (of course, they will surely expose the team to the fast and technical game the North African Countries are known for), but also for respect and support which the NFF accords the Coach. During the time of Stephen Keshi's reign as the Coach of S.E, some NFF members, hid under the canopy of fracas between Keshi and some of his players, at times taking side with those players to distabilize the team for their selfish interest. The era of playing important matches without arranging for proper friendlies, prior to those games also seems to end with Keshi' reign. This tempo (TEMPLE ![]() ) must be sustained. |

Oliseh is not ill — NFF https://media.premiumtimesng.com/wp-content/files/2015/08/800x499xSunday-Oliseh.jpg.pagespeed.ic.6dRCBv04R6.jpg Coach Sunday Oliseh. By Tunde Eludini The Nigeria Football Federation have refuted media reports suggesting that the Super Eagles Coach, Sunday Oliseh, is presently ill and would not be available to oversee the Home based Eagles take on Burkina Faso in the CHAN qualifiers this weekend. Coach Oliseh had endured hectic times last week following the row that engulfed the national team camp. He was on hand to oversee high profile friendly games in Belgium; first against DR Congo and then Cameroon, which ended in a sweet 3-0 win for Nigeria. It was reported that Oliseh had written the NFF to stay away from the weekend game in Port Harcourt in order to see his doctors in Belgium and address his health issues. However, the NFF through its official handle on Wednesday said Coach Oliseh is by no means ill adding that he will be joining the home-based Eagles on Thursday. “Coach @SundayOOliseh isn’t ill & hasn’t opted out of Saturday’s CHAN game. He joins the team Thursday”. The NFF wrote on its twitter handle. Meanwhile, the NFF has also announced that the 2016 African Nations Championship final round, first leg qualifier between the Home–based Senior National Team, Super Eagles B, and the Etalons of Burkina Faso, will now take place on Saturday. The NFF said the venue remains the Adokiye Amiesieamaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, with kick–off scheduled for 4 p.m. The highly anticipated clash in the Garden City was previously fixed for Sunday October 18 but will now be played 24 hours earlier. Nigeria is seeking to be among the 16 African countries to compete in Rwanda. After earlier misses, the country made her debut show in the 2014 edition in South Africa where the Eagles settled for Bronze. BascoVanVeli:He z good but gbolahun salami has been the best so far.... As for me i d love to see Ezekiel BASESEY ...dubbed the Nigerian Hazard. Both of them are wingers and possess good crossing abilities though Ezekiel is a better dribbler .beats three markers at a go ...Aggreh has the speed and the eye for goal. |

CHAN: Home Eagles Coach Promises Victory Over Burkina Faso https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/IMG_20150826_121842.jpg By Johnny Edward: Super Eagles assistant coach, Salisu Yusuf, is confident the home-based national team will emerge victors in Saturday’s 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) first leg final round qualifying match against the Etalons of Burkina Faso at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt. Yusuf who will take charge of the game in the absence of head coach Sunday Oliseh believes his the team be more motivated to win for their head coach. “The players are ready and so far their responses in our test games have been impressive,” Yusuf told Comple tesportsnigeria.com after the test game against Shekarau Babes. “Right now we do not believe there is a small team anymore on the continent so we will accord Burkina Faso their due respect on and off the pitch. “We have secured their under-23 team tapes at the just concluded All Africa Games in Brazzaville, Congo, to give us an idea of what to expect from their CHAN team. “Our target is to win convincingly in Port Harcourt to make the reverse fixture in Ouagadougou in a fortnight a mere formality.” The second leg will take place in Ouagadougou on October 25.
