2010 Rav4 lost power and suddenly stopped while I was driving it. It refused to start after many tries. Left the car for a while and came back to start and it started and I drove it home. Drove the car again today and same thing happened. Scanned it and got error code C1201 -engine control system and brake boost performance.

How do I resolve this problem

I wouldn't rely completely on that scan code.

But it's possible the engine Ecu is bad.

An engine requires compression, spark and fuel in the right sequence.

When the car shuts off find out what is lacking. Also clear that error and see if it comes up again.

When the car shut down and I try to start it, it cranks but the engine doesn't start. I initially thought it was the fuel pump but ruled it out after testing it outside the car.

Morr code(s) should be gotten. Was your power train scanned as well? Ask who ever scanned the car to scan your power train. Further diagnosis needs to be carried out

Erase all code and ensure the car is scan exactly at the period the car has the issue .
