Is Lagos State Too Big For Ambode? by Orikinla(op):
I have asked this question before and I am repeating it for good reasons.
Is Lagos State too big for the new Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode?

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu found a good successor in the immediate former Governor, Babatude Raji Fashola, SAN; who did his best to govern the state when their party, All Progressives Congress (APC) was not the national ruling party, because the former ruling party, People's Democratic Party (PDP) abandoned Lagos State to spite the main opposition party.
Fashola managed to improve the development of the biggest state in Nigeria with more revenue from taxes than the annual federal allocations and succeeded in turning Lagos around into one of the fastest developing mega cities in the world and made the commercial capital of Nigeria the 13th biggest economy in Africa and richer than many countries in the continent.

If Fashola asked for two more terms after the maximum two terms, majority of Lagosians would have voted for him in appreciation and approval of his remarkable achievements. But he had to handover to a successor on May 29, 2015. But his successor, Ambode, chosen by their political godfather, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not been able to even show indications that he can improve on the achievements of his outstanding predecessors.
He has spent more than 120 days doing little or nothing and crimes have been increasing, heaps of refuse are returning to make the mega city filthy and stinking; the government hospitals and medical centres are neglected and in a mess; many public schools are looking like refugee camps with horrible toilets that pupils and students cannot use and roads are not maintained. I know the excuse will be he has not appointed his commissioners, so his government cannot function without a cabinet. But the governor and fellow civil servants have been collecting their salaries and allowances all these months.

Just read on Nairaland of armed robbers attacking motorists on the Eko Bridge in broad daylight and no police in sight to stop them. And police stations are not far away from the location.
