'I Won't Comment On Bokoharam, I Still Have Family To Take Care Of' by Seekeroftruth(op): 9:24pm On Oct 20, 2015
A ministerial nominee, Adebayo Shittu, who was screened by the
Senate on Tuesday declined to publicly comment on the
extremist Boko Haram sect,
saying he feared for his safety.
Boko Haram is currently ravaging North-East Nigeria,
killing, bombing innocent citizens.
Mr. Shittu, responding to a question pertaining the
activities of sect, said he could not publicly comment on the
sect, expressing fear over his safety.
"I cannot publicly comment on
Boko Haram; I still have family to care of," he said
He noted that many northern leaders were "unfairly" criticised
for not speaking out against the sect.
Mr. Shittu explained that Boko Haram had killed anybody who
spoke out against the sect.
"So anybody that still wants to live will not condemn that faceless group publicly."

What Alhaji Shittu did by that response was a classical case of psychological warfare against adherents of other religion. His response was enough to torpedo his ministerial ambition by his deliberately creating a spirit of fear that Boko Haram is invincible and cannot be conquered since they are everywhere even in the Senate chamber. The implication of his statement is too deep to contemplate, i will stop short of calling him an extremist.

What a man! He is unfit to be a Minister in Nigeria of 2015, he does not even believe that the commander in chief is capable of protecting him and his family.

Within the last few days, I have been very unfortunate to hear irresponsible comments from people norminated to be ministers in a government running on the change mantra

I shall give up on Buhari if he doesn't drop this Coward and the other one we loved back then

For me, that was an irresponsible statement coming from a would be minister and someone who claims to be a non-terroristic Muslim.

Let any God-forsaken group rise up and say they are a Christian militia bombing and destroying lives and property, you would see pastors, men of God denounce the idiots vocally and without mincing words. But its clear now what goes on the mind of the Muslim religious leaders.

Never have I heard the early morning call to prayers vehemently and clearly denouncing terrrorism even with the extent of evil being perpetrated by these people.
