President Buhari has appointed Professor Mahmud Yakubu as new chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Council Of State Confirms Mahmud Yakubu As Substantive INEC Chair

The Council of State has approved the appointment of Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, as the substantive Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

President Muhammadu Buhari had appointed Mrs Amina Bala Zakari as the Acting Chairman of INEC following the conclusion of the term of Office of Prof. Attahiru Jega.

Mrs. Zakari ws presently a National Electoral Commissioner at INEC.
