I noticed that our political terrain is full of criminals or men who are currently in court for for corruption allegations.

Please list the saints and the thieves.

I've never met a political saint, I'll like to know these untouchables.

Regardless of tribe, region or religious belief, please make this an interactive thread.

@lalasticala (are you still a mod?), ishilove, and the rest.

Thank you for your post.

Honestly, all politicians in Nigeria are corrupt.

Unfortunately, we are now getting to the stage of rating our leaders using "Corruption Scaling Index"

- Corrupt

- More Corrupt

- Averagely Corrupt

- Extremely Corrupt

etc.

1. Who determines what allegations goes in each stage?

2. Does it mean a certain stage will be unpunished?

3. So what does creating corruption spectrum mean in the long run?

1. The Nigerian masses has taken the role of determining who fit to each stage. A Case study of ACN and PDP in SW, where the former is preferred and seeing as less evil compared to the later. You hear statement like..."If they are stealing and still delivering small small, we are okay".

2. In the current political setting, I fear some allegations of corruption will not be investigated. While we only hear and see deafening media noise with no end result.

3. In the long run the masses suffers, the country remain underdeveloped while the professional looters cum politicians keep their loots overseas.

Another impediment in fighting corruption in Nigeria is our legal system.

I posted the below yesterday.

Firefire:

Not only for Bukola Saraki but for all the looters in the history of Nigeria democracy since 1999.

All the corruption cases in Nigeria should be given accelerated hearing and those found guilty should be dealt with according to the law of the land.

If Nigeria will ever be a great Nation, our judiciary or judicial system should be holistically review, enough of unending court proceedings, enough of granting perpetual injunction to the looters of our common wealth.

- Peter Odili's perpetual injunction granted by Justice Ibrahim N. Buba stopping Nigerian security agencies including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission from investigating the former governor of River State, Peter Odili, for corruption.

- Nigerian court headed by Justice Adamu Bello also granted perpetual injunction against Maina’s arrest. Abdulrasheed Maina, a former Chairman of the Pension Reform facing trial for N195b pension scam.

- Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi the former CBN Governor through his Counsel, Prof Yemi Osibanjo (SAN), also got an interim order of injunction from Justice Buba, restraining the government from arresting, detaining, or harassing the applicant (Sanusi).

It's high time we addressed the loopholes in our judicial system which our lawyers and SANs like Prof. Yemi Osinbajo are exploiting to continue defending looters and corrupt leaders in Nigeria.

Shalom!

You made good points in your replies.

In this scenario of creating a spectrum and appointing punishments based on different areas of the spectrum, who would you blame?

1. The Youths that created the spectrum?

2. The youths that fight on social media in support of corrupt politicians?

3. The politicians

Thank you for your feedback.

I will merge your item 1-3 together to apportion the blame.

Honestly, the successive government in Nigeria and the citizens are to be blamed for the increase cases of corruption in Nigeria.

Fighting corruption should be a collective fight every Nigerian citizen should be involved in without taking side, irrespective of the political affiliates, because corruption in Nigeria is systemic and endemic and a complete change of our orientation will deliver the required society.

It's time Nigerians comes together, forget about their differences and develop a new idea that will help us protect our common wealth from the hands of our common looters.

Shalom!

And oil tycoons aren't corrupt? SS thinking that Yorubas are their problems forget that many igbos benefitted from the Ijaw oil and didn't give back to the Ijaw community.
Being an oil tycoon did not stop her from stealing additional funds.
