What so special about uni Ilorin, cram and pour school. The only schools in South West that students really met up to expectations in their grades is OAU and U. I. You must be a genius to come out with first class in these two schools.

I'm so proud of my younger brother who happens to be among the First Class graduands,it was not an easy journey for him but God saw him thru,both in times of hunger he perseverd and was still focused,we give God the glory,the school really got standard,forget about those badmouthing uniilorin,you really have to be intelligent to pass through that school with good grades...

Over hyped uni, always rushing students without delivering anything tangible academically. (JUST MASTER THE ART OR SCIENCE OF CRAMMING, AND IN NO TIME, YOU WILL BECOME A SCHOLAR IN NO TIME).....but all in all, its working for them, so good for them.

I don't think there is any rushing in Unilorin in terms of how they run their academic calendar as many people view it. After all, other things being equal, a semester shouldn't extend 15weeks at most. An academic session shouldn't take the whole 12months, and it's not compulsory that the inter-semester break should be up to months. The only thing this school seems to enjoy is the total absence of strike, cultist activities and crisis that may lead to unstable and extended academic calendar.

Most of the situations of extended academic calendars and delay experienced in most of our universities today are due to strike, cultist activities or community crisis. Practically, no semester is expected to run for up to six months. I could remember during the days of one of my elder brother in higher institution, there was a crisis by two rivalry cultist group that led to the suspension of academics for months. After this issue was resolved and students are back on campus, the ASUU began it's national strike the third week, and they had to vacate the campus again as the issue wasn't resolve on time. Few years back in this country, hardly will a year pass without experiencing ASUU or similar strike in our universities.

I think these are just what Unilorin enjoys over the years that made it looks as if there is any special thing attached to it's academic calendar. I don't think they rush in any way. Let the school experience just 2 months of strike and see what will happen. Our education system, not only the universities alone, needs reformation. Even you see some government secondary school experiencing similar issue. If you doubt this, visit Osun state and make enquiry.

unilorin na great sch anyway anytime did my first post jamb for that sch 2005 but them no pick me share because i fail but I come pass post jamb for Unaab the following year.. but all in all my guy finish from that sch with 2.2and d guy na fire oh...

The University of Ilorin, Kwara State, has turned out a total of 69 First Class graduates to mark its 31st convocation and 40th anniversary.

Speaking with journalists in llorin, the state capital, on Tuesday, the university's vice chancellor, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali, said
that out of 6,710 graduating students, 1,392 bagged Second Class (Upper Division), 2,884 got Second Class (lower division), adding that 932 were awarded Third Class while 82 got Pass.

Professor Ambali, who described the university as the fastest growing university in Africa, said that. a total of 22 development projects, built by about N2 billion TETFUND grants, would be inaugurated to mark the 40th anniversary of the institution.

He mentioned part of the projects to include lecture theatres, laboratories, medical assessment centre, 200-bed private hostel, electricity supply from main campus to College of Health Science, road construction, rehabilitation of 650-seater science lecture theatre, among others. Professor Ambali, who commended the Federal Government for the release of funds for the capital projects, sought additional funds to provide more projects to increase its admission quota.

He said that available capacity in the university could not match the increasing number of admission seekers in the country, explaining to parents that the authorities could not compromise quality nor contravene the NUC directive on number of students to be admitted.

"We want to improve access to education, but we can't compromise quality. Also,the NUC is the body controlling the admission. We have to abide by the rules set. There are other good universities in the country. I can only assure parents that the Federal Government will increase facilities that will enable us to admit more students," he said.
