Prospective Bayelsa corps members... *hehe* You people re veeeery much welcome. Name is Segun, batch A corps member, serving in yenagoa @ d nysc secretariat... I'm sure you've love Bayelsa as you probably might have learnt that 90% of Bayelsa is on water. Drainage system is nth to write home about n the cost of living is kinda on d high side. Cheapest moderate self-con in yenagoa is 120k. If you get places like Brass or Southern Ijaw, where u might spend nth less than 2 hours on water with speed boat, there re nice corps lodges there buh network scarce small o... Lemme gist u small about Kaiama camp... it's a temporary orientation camp, camp might be flooded already due to too much rain, cos my bro, my sis, Bayelsa is below d water table  water does not really sink.Please get ur rubber boots 4 reals.. u buy fancy boots, you're on a long tin. Buy extra whites n socks cos what NYSC will give u, you'll be so shocked that at d end of week 1, u'll be using it as rag... During our set, we had funny soldiers... come early if u want nice rooms. State coordinator is a very nice man, I'm very sure you'll enjoy him... hope to see u guys @ d camp, PCMS.. otondos *hehe* You guys shld create a whatsapp group 4 easy accessibility, u might wish to add me on d group - 07069446328... 3 Likes |

Solecontroller:It's a pleasure... Yeah! You'll get your PPAs when u get your posting letter on your last day in camp. Majorly teaching, pv8 n secondary schools, ministry and some useless private establishments where they use corps members like slaves... The best place where u can serve in Yenagoa is a school. I have friends who have school ppas, sec schls, they just teach from 12 to 2 (max) twice a week n that's all... n there re private establishments where you'll work from 7am to 7pm. Why I'm giving this brief orientation is that when I just entered too, someone gave us some info abt Bayelsa, so it prepared me well n made me enjoy d adventure well well... If you've not been dat used to water, you'll love water by the time u leave, cos even in yenagoa, we have yenagoa on land and across water... No oil n gas job for corps members, it was said @ d orientation camp and it's true... You re here to serve n not to make money *hehe* |

olusegunadex:Nice, sounds like Bayelsa isn't so bad like people say after all. As the camp is usually flooded I doubt there'll be intensive exercises, running and standing for countless hours, lol. |

Chilops:Medical personnel, it's either they post u to a hospital or the ministry of health... they do give u pple preferential treatments. State allowance for medical doctors - 70k a month, not sure of others buh it's much too... Normal corps members - 3k if you're on land, 5k if you're on water... |
