Barclays Premier League leaders Manchester City will look to build on a formidable recent record against Manchester United when they visit Old Trafford this weekend, in a fixture that has seen a flurry of goals in recent seasons.

Man City have emerged victorious in six of the last eight Manchester derbies in the league, while the last 10 meetings between the sides in all competitions have produced 41 goals, an average of 4.1 per match.
A 6-1 triumph at Old Trafford in the 2011/12 season, which finished with their first BPL title, and a 4-1 success in David Moyes' first taste of the Manchester derby two campaigns later are among their high-scoring triumphs.
Recent history also suggests that both sides will go all out for the win, with none of the last 12 Manchester derbies in all competitions ending in a draw.

Another three points on Sunday would be City's 50th victory against United in all competitions. The Red Devils have won 69 of their 168 meetings, while the other 50 have been draws.
Despite City having the upper hand in recent years, Louis van Gaal led United to a 4-2 triumph at Old Trafford last term, and he has made the famous stadium a fortress since being appointed as manager last summer.
United have won 17 of their 23 BPL home matches under Van Gaal and have lost just three in that period. They are unbeaten at their own ground this season, with a 0-0 draw against Newcastle United the only blemish, helping them to sit just two points and two places below City going into Sunday's match.
