Hello, goodday to all you nairalanders. Basically, this post is me ranting to anyone who cares to listen. So around june, UNIZIK had their postUTME exams which had about 28,000 people in attendance; maybe more. And this 28,000 people were expected to take the school's CBT postUTME within a space of 3 days; each candidate having 10 minutes to answer 20 questions. Notwithstanding their faulty systems, art students being asked physics and chemistry questions and all your answered questions suddenly wiping, we still managed to finish writing our exams. They has to span it over a period of 6 days 'cos the initial 3 days wasn't enough. Fast forward to 1 week later. Those who recieved their results were seeing things like "0", "5" etc. How person wey get 253 for jamb go de get 5 for postUTME? Na juju?? Well, i didn't despair, 'cos my aggregate was relatively high compared to others in my department.(mind you, no be 5 i get for postUTME ooh ).Fast forward to 2 weeks later they finally released their first admisson list and people just de cry de knack head for ground. You'll see people who's aggregate cannot call london getting admitted while you're still at home waiting. Later they released a statement telling us that it's 'cos of one federal government policy wey dem call ELDS(Educationally Less Developed States) which included most of the north. So if i have an aggregate of 270 for medicine being fromn the south east, a northerner with an aggregate of 250 for the same course will be admitted. Na my fault say some people no gree go school when their mates de go ?? . That's why i don't really blame some igbos who were putting their state of origin as kano and kadunai'd just like to know. What is your opinion on this matter cc: richiez fynestboi lalasticlala farano teempakguy johnydon22 Robinhez |

One of the problem with this government, they murder our educational system by promoting idiotic mediocrity and call it fairness. Is it no longer education? Why should we lower an approved standard in order to accommodate others because they are too lazy to match up to average educational standard? Whose fault is it that the north don't want to brace up and embrace education like all others that they have to be literally spoon fed to the detriment of others who by every standard merits the slots. I thought the main priority was to bring out professionals in their fields of study? why won't Nigeria ever remain backward when those that merit the admission is not granted one and the ones with low performance are admitted. why won't such nonsensical idiocy produce quacks and compound illiterates in lab coats. If the north don't want to brace up and engage fully into the desired educational goals then it is nobody's fault. The same brain on the head of a student in south west is exactly the same on the head of the one in the southeast and same goes for the ones in the north. If they are too lazy to strive in developing theirs then it is their own doing not anybody's fault. Our educational system should be carried out on merit and not some stupi_d ELDS because it will keep producing poor results and keep this country in a standard lower than it should be. Everyone should be given equal opportunity based on merit to go to school because am sure the same physics text book am reading is also there in the north, that one is too lazy to read should not be blamed on the development of his state. Anyway what do i really expect from a government that upholds alien religious study more than our own History... #Pitiful... |

johnydon22:exactly my point...aren't they all going into the same labour market?? When the doctor given admission based on his 250 aggregate finally kills someone due to his ineptitude, the government will wash their hands off him....good thing i was admitted though, just that i have friends who are affected |

Dats true ooo OP,dats one of the greatest problem we face in this country, imagine a south westerner requiring 230 for a course and a northerner 200 in OAU here ooo.The policy formulators thought they re helping d so called ELDS but in actual sense, they are not.A student from Kogi who ought 2 read ahead of the admission struggle into Unilag will relax knowing fully well dat he stands a beta chance than candidates from oda skul due 2 dis foolish policy, wen e eventually gets d admission ahead of brighter heads from oda skuls,he'll end being a passerby with no good CGPA. |
