TonyeBarcanista:I think the PDP Senators did a very smart thing.. Sacrificing the Bishop in their quest to checkmate the king.. The question is.. will they be able to perfect the moves required to checkmate the King? |

@ Tonyebarcanista, i don't really think that the PDP lost it. On the contrary they chose to tow the line of the lawn and moral high ground by simply refusing to partake in a process that will see a corruption suspect nominated & confirmed as a Minister in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The APC on the other hand still don't know that they just walked into a minefield. Thanks to their actions yesterday they just confirmed that the so called anti-corruption campaign is a JOKE. be rest assured that a considerable number of Nigerians have duly taken not and there's a chance that it will haunt the APC in 2019. Overall you're right about the need for the PDP to go back to the drawing board. but this time they have to strategies on how to take control of both upper and lower houses. as for Saraki, he just lost a major support bloc. So good luck to him in the future. |

ocelot2006:Thank you for your input. The PDP Senators lost EVERY moral legitimacy the day they escorted Saraki to the CCT. They cemented it when they adjourned planery to enable Saraki face his alleged crime and instead convene at the CCT. I warned against these and even openly criticised it. PDP were more of Saraki's personal interest than their own interest. I remember Metuh's Press Statements...(Jeez)! Saraki took advantage of the whole thing for his own interest and traded with the APC at the expense of PDP that were doing Abubakou for him. As for moral burden, it is on both the Presidency, APC and PDP. -The Presidency nominated a morally bankrupt Amaechi for minister. -The PDP defended a morally bankrupt Saraki with their lives(and got served) -The APC defended a morally bankrupt Amaechi and aided his confirmation. Like you said, PDP must return to the drawing board. It is too late to seek control of NASS. We just have to protect Senator Ike |

Who else read that part where this dude wrote that 'PDP has the chance to do with nominee AMAECHI what they want?' Yet, they call THIS political analysis? Who goes about writing in this manner and gets his stuffs pushed to the FP? Nairaland sha. It shouldn't be a political vendetta as you and your ilks are made to hold, it is about facts and justifications. |

THE ATTITUDINAL EXERCISE SHOWED BY PDP SENATORS MEANS THEY DIDNT WANT TO SEE THEMSELVES AS MINORITY,UNTIL THEY WERE PLACED WHERE THEY BELONG.PDP HAS NOTHING TO OFFER AGAIN AS FAR AS NIGERIA GOVT IS CONCERNED.THOSE BIGOTS IN PDP HAVE LOST UNITY- BINDING ORIENTATIONS LIKE OBASANJO AND OTHER PDP FOUNDING FATHERS.DAVID MARK KNOWS HE MADE A VERY COSTLY MISTAKE AND HE'S COUNTING THE LOSSES.LOOK AT PDP NOW,IT IS FULL OF MOST PEOPLE FROM SE AND SS.WHERE IS THE ADVOCACY OF ONE NIGERIA ORIENTATION AND VALUE? |

kinibigdeal:bros forget saraki and tinubu matter, that is an internal APc issue . The annoying thing in this issue is that the opposition provided a very feeble front against something they believe is wrong. If saraki didn't ask any sensible provoking question in order to protect himself,he can still hide under the guise that he can't go against his party. The annoying thing is that pdp senators did not live up to expectation, they shouldn't have staged any walkout, this is democracy and the whole world is watching ,only a fool will believe that walkout wasn't planned by APc and pdp senators . With this present crop of pdp senators o think it is even better if the senate is wholly full of APc members because there is no difference. |

Bros na me hail pass ooo....I'm a great follower, subscriber and supporter of you and ur post...going by your post even when it seems u support pdp and going by your post when it seems you support pdp ;what I figured out is dat u are a great political analyst and u don't just argue instead u give Facts... Alot of ppl see u are a staunch pdp supporter but me I dey see u as a great politician who just want the best for his nation and people...pretty bad our system has been eaten, bitten and washed with corruption if not how can we have crack heads as leader's when we have brilliant ppl like u and even some APC supporters here on Nairaland... All our leaders know and think about is money, then money... They giv no F about what ever happens afterwards but it's pretty bad dey hv jazzed alot of Nigerians who keep on fighting themselves while they the politicians are doing good at their business (corruption).. How can a sane person tell me pdp misruled Nigeria for 16 years..whereas in this 16 years Nigeria was ruled by alot of peeps from this same APC... U wanna be seen as an angel in politics, it's easy.. Get to a post thenloot and loot and after some time buy over some ppl and decamp to APC and let the public know u hv been brainwashed before...dats all. Anyway one of d latest ministers have said they steal and loot cos Nigerians don't stone them...but when the frustration becomes too much won't the stoning happen? TonyeBarcanista: |

kinibigdeal:bros, naija politics is different from normal politics. It is all a matter of time you will start hearing all the dirty details of what actually happened behond the scene. But pls ,what kind of message could those pdp senator be wanting to make without clearly stating it in front of the whole work on camera ?the walkout was an approval of the list but not wanting the public to see them openly supporting it |
| Re: A Detailed Analysis On How PDP Lost Out In The Senate's Scheme Of Things by lawflec(m): 1:05pm On Oct 30, 2015 |
Jesusloveyou:noooo.. Those present were 49pdp and 10 apc senators add them together it will be 59 minus saraki, will be 58.and simple majority of 109 is 55... And 58 is above 55. Secondly in election it is those sitting and are present constituting simple majority. But due to the nature of removal of an elected leader it is always 2/3 of the elected members. To move the motion is 1/3 of those sitting and voting.. I think I have tried to make u understand. If u can't then wallow in ur own understanding. Thank u |
| Re: A Detailed Analysis On How PDP Lost Out In The Senate's Scheme Of Things by kinibigdeal(m): 1:05pm On Oct 30, 2015 |
onatisi:The message is simple, the upper chamber is no longer going to be the way it use to be. You watch out, unity is an over-statement. An open walk out is simply an open message to aggrieved members that future coalition is not irreversible |

I thought this guy is a die hard pdp guy? Nice one. Its high time pdp woke up to the reality that saraki is not worth trusting. Let them start looking for another way to show relevance. |

kinibigdeal:bros you are too trusting to be a Nigerian politician. Write this Down Half of the pdp senators who staged that walkout have already started planning how to dump pdp and join apc |

TonyeBarcanista:irrespective of what people say about you, I believe you're arguably the most grounded political analyst on nairaland. It's also a good thing that PDP has someone like you. But on the contrary, PDP didn't lose. They've won something important which is unity. The PDP no stands as a united house. - Saraki controls the house and whatever he says when he hits the gavel is final. - the PDP senators stood for him and followed him because they realise that Saraki has to remain in that position for Ike to remain DSP. - now that Saraki has breached that agreement, it is now time for the PDP to look for other ways of protecting ike. - posterity has recorded it that PDP stood for what is morally right yesterday, while APC stood for what is morally wrong. Keep the flag flying bro. |

TonyeBarcanista:am satisfied with the thinking that in all the three cases I cited u read only the newspaper reports and not the FULL JUDGMENT cos if u did u would not have posted this. The method of impeachment both in the executive and legislature are exactly the same. And since u take more pleasure in reading only newspaper reports and not the law report then help yourself with this... Read courteously so as to understand it. http://m.news24.com/nigeria/National/News/Court-nullifies-impeachment-of-Niger-Speaker-20151030 |

| Re: A Detailed Analysis On How PDP Lost Out In The Senate's Scheme Of Things by ocelot2006(m): 1:52pm On Oct 30, 2015 |
onatisi:Well i beg to differ. It was better that the PDP staged a walk out rather than stay back and adopt a far more.conforntational stance, something that couldve degenrated to something far worse. I equally support the PDP's decision not to question Amaechi on the grounds of corruption petitions early submitted and their decision not to second the.motion for Amaechi to take a bow. The overall results are not palatable BUT at least it clearly shows that the PDP stood for what was right while the APCs action rubbishes their so called anti corruption stance. |

the SP case is a bit confusing, its like the more u look, the less u see.to think that saraki will get away with it is an error.jagaban and co are nt the forgiving type.the ccb case is there to keep bukky on a leash and make him carry out actions that will make him loose allies i.e pdp members.forget APCs we are united brouhaha.they are waiting for saraki to loose enough no of allies before giving him the okadigbo treatment. |
