For your info there are hawkers on third mainland bridge
joseph1832:
He should stop being worried and do something about it! Yesterdays traffic was mad! I mean really mad! All the way from Meiran to Toll Gate, the whole place was total 'go slow'.

Many even started using the ancient form of transportation, that is trekking....

To even show that Ambode doesn't even have a clue how to stop the conundrum that has plagued Lagos state, he's even saying people should stop patronizing street hawkers, forgetting that street hawkers only operate where there is traffic jam.

I wonder if he has ever seen any street hawker operating on Lagos Ibadan expressway or Third Mainland bridge. The reason for the growing number of street hawkers is because of the traffic gridlock that is now synonymous to Lagos state. If he wants to put an end to street hawking, he should put an end to traffic jam.

Ambode tried to please everyone when he got power, so he is not as strict as his predecessor. Now, look at the state of anarchy Lagos is in. I think Ambode needs to call in Bartman right now...or better yet, The Avengers.
Err...Bartman...are you sure?

This guy seems to be quite clueless as GEJ, what stops Ambode from installing CCTV cameras of the bridge and have police officers or setup a security outfit to monitor. Its a bridge with one inlet and one outlet how could that be too difficult to implement.

Blacksodje:
Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode on
Thursday released the policy direction of his
administration for the next three and half
years, just as he appealed for the support and
cooperation of all Lagos people in moving the
state forward.
The Governor who spoke at the inaugural
retreat organised by the State Government for
Commissioners, Special Advisers and body of
Permanent Secretaries in the state, expressed
deep concern over the persistent traffic
gridlock in the metropolis, and the increase in
spate of robberies.
He said in the interim, he has directed the
fixing of all potholes to ease vehicular
movement, just as security agencies have been
mandated to enforce the ban on commercial
motorcycle operators popularly called Okada
riders on highways noting that aside the risks of
accidents, such can also be a security threat to
the people.
Governor Ambode, who said the government is
also working hard to restrict street hawking,
urged the people to stop patronising them, so as
to discourage street traders from the highways.
“We have already hit the ground running. I’m
deeply concerned about the issues that
Lagosians are sending back to me and the issues
range from security issues, traffic gridlock.

I hope Oba Akiolu and the 20,999,999 approximate inhabitants of Lagos are really dancing shoki now. You had a better chance of letting rival politics play the tune of Development well, but you lost it through partisan politics among others. I am sure this would not have been so if PDP was allowed in Lagos, as they would have buckled up to impress the opposition. Now who is to stop them now when they are themselves. All we keep hearing are town hall meetings, plans and worries, instead of sweaty hard labour.
Apart from the noise and constant fight, a man that marries 2 wives will enjoy great meals often. I hope Rivers State will learn from this malady.

Things have really changed since he took over. I believe he is concentrating more on the plights of civil servants that were abandoned for years especially pensioners. He is also restructuring civil service but he shouldn't forget Lagos State is not a civil servant state. Is a business hub that requires the ground running from day. He thought he was doing good to the populace by banning the impounding of vehicles by LASTMA not knowing that most Lagosians are not not culturally civil, they need to be compel to obey. The traffic in Lagos is now meh, yesterday's own at Alausa and Maryland were just terrible. I just want him to hit the ground running. Ambode in times of infra structural development have been up and doing too. That ACME road he just fixed at Ikeja and other roads the state government have been fixing are really not been hyped. I blame his media team. Maybe the security situation has overtaken Lagosians psyche on his performances so far. He better do the needful.

Fashola was a true and exemplary leader. I have lost alot of money due to traffic jams. Even when I leave 2 -3hours earlier, sometimes, I still comr up short.

Those commercial buses cause 99% of the hold ups in lagos. They stop indiscriminately in order to pick passengers and they drive without caution. Imposing a harsh punishment on people that stop indiscriminately will go a long way in easing the traffic jams.

Ambode is a weakling and an owambe governor. Even the small ban he place on non essential trucks is not being respected. He doesn't command respect like fashola and I really fear he has a big shoe to fill and he might come up exceedingly short.
A weakling and Owambe + boyboy governor.

And of a truth, ur worst fears have come to be.

Get on ur knees Bro. #prayerswithoutceasing

Enough of all this talk with no actions.
He said this on.thursday and i can tell you with all seriousness that there was no day in the past weeks when someone was not robbed on Akpongbon, mile2, Iyana Oworo, Oshodi, Eko bridge and other traffic grodlocks.

The commissioner of police came out last week to say that he gets at least 4 reports of traffic robberies every day in different parts of Lagos yet i have not seen him deploy his men to the known notorious spots where these crimes happen on a daily basis with no resistance. People were again robbed on Eko bridge friday night.

They may have longterm plans but they need to be seen to be doing something by making it impossible for these crimes to keep happening at same already identified spots.
Its beginning to look to me that some people are not doing their jobs.

Another proof that academic qualifications are overrated.
You need to see Ambode's CV. So so first class. Yet when he talks you wonder.
It is like GEJ. With all his PhD, I no lots of school cert holders who convey ideas with more clarity and conviction than I ever heard GEJ do in five years.

That one is a wasted officer. Totally inept.
Look at mile 2. A small area that should be easily cordoned off with armed officers and make it virtually impossible for thieves to operate. Not to talk of Oworo and Apongbon.
