Motion no movement (state of the nation) At this point in time, only a staunch unrepentant hypocrite will deny the fact that the nation is being ran differently under our new sheriff; President Muhammadu Buhari. It seems almost like yesterday when we were promised 2,000,000 jobs, 24 hours power supply among other largesse promised by the APC campaign team. Perhaps they are still caught in the mirage of power and all they have been doing is to simply phantom a greater Nigeria. I dare to say that the government is yet to realize itself and define its programs. I will quickly offer a caveat for Bigots who will say; we thought we told you Buhari was this and that. The confidence of the masses in the Buhari administration remains un-wavered. But it remains the duty of every well-meaning Nigerian to keep the government on its toes, see to its success and criticize as at when required. Once again, I congratulate Nigerians alike, who stood in the sun or rain to vote for a new dawn. To be honest, the current state of the nation is pitiable in most spheres and requires urgent attention in terms of palliatives and long-term solutions. But for a government that has won an election well over 40 days before it assumed power, a lot more readiness is expected. Although it is not fair to blame all these instability on the new government, it is only wise for them to realize the wedding is over and there is now a marriage to maintain. The pace of this government cannot see them deliver on their promise and as such there is need to up the tempo and hit the ground running, like the PDP said body language dont generate mage watts, I cant agree less, but I think Nigerians dont even care if it is Buharis body odour that will power Nigeria; we all just want power. Arguably, with distractions spanning form the selective uncoordinated anti-graft war to the PDP blame game antics, to the fullani herdsmen, to the press, to the delay in cabinet formation, to the instability in the legislative arm of government, clamour for an economic magic and ultimately, the impatience of Nigerians, it is very uneasy to get going with the business of government. Nonetheless, this government owes Nigerians a delivery of their promises and much more, so no excuse can come in the way of our expectations as Nigerians. We might want to believe that the reported depletion of the nations treasury and financial recklessness of the previous administration has a huge impact on the sluggishness of this government and also the absence of a federal cabinet (even though Buhari thinks they are noise makers) is to blame. The formation of cabinet should not be delayed and square peg should be fitted in square holes. This should serve as a succor and breathe a sigh of relief on the capital and labour market. Having seen the list of gentle men, I think they are more than capable. The 2016 budget should however reflect the true vision of the APC in terms of economy diversification, capital over current expenditure and a realistic oil benchmark be set. We can only hope that indeed the change will be felt across board, so that the labour of our heroes past shall never e in vain (ameen). God Bless Nigeria Olokodana M-bukhari Toyosi |

Still on existing protocols. Though job creation, power generation etc may take time, we know but, there as to be a feasible short and long term plans which the Buhari led government is performing woefully on. I for one still believes in the government for a total change in all sectors of the economy but the reality on ground calls for questioning. One thing I know for sure is that, PVC no dey expiry |
