carnegiefan:Nna man come on not all are that bad. Every ethnic group and race has its bad people that are "SELFISH, SELF-CENTERED, GREEDY" We have to talk about this, are you assuming that when bad Igbo's change to Biafran they will automatically turn to angels like Buharis Ministers? .I also disagree with you why should we take on a name given to us by the oppressors? |

Obiagu1:Every state is independent to an extent to create her policies for the betterment of her state. Tinubu raised Lagos IGR with Fashola increasing it. Same with Rotimi Amaechi in Rivers on her IGR. Even Ebonyi under the former Governor was able to raised her IGR. Not saying this is all about policies, but just to show you, no one is hindering any group from progress. Your people held committees chairmen in National Assembly but in works and other important sectors yet, you lots have the worst federal roads and contracts awarded to your indigenes. Atleast let me see the little you can do for your respective states before trying to agitate for independence you don't have the capacity to sustain. Having said that, if energies expended on this Biafra are channel to the Federal roads in your region. I would have support the course. |

biafranqueen:I agree, but Biafra is an IDEAL (something that is supposed to be better than what our culture provides). If we cannot aim for that ideal, there is really no need to leave Nigeria. BTW I opened that thread. |

Biafra doesn't mean anything, it's just some African word, probably from Cameroon, hence the mapping, that the Portuguese screwed up and it stuck, and now people are trying to attach meaning to it because one man hastily suggested that the eastern Nigerian country should be named after the bight in the 1960s, which was named by Europeans. Furthermore there's nothing like an ancient Biafra kingdom. That's completely made up. carnegiefan:That doesn't make any sense. Biafran soldiers were also raping and harassing people under the name Biafra. What's the difference between calling a thief Igbo and Biafran? What transformation comes from dropping Igbo, which has a pre-European meaning, for Biafra which has no meaning and is a symbol of European imperialism. Has the mostly unsuccessful MASSOB not been using Biafra for decades now? |

kel4soft:Do you know what is fiscal policy? Do you know what is monetary policy? Do you know what is foreign policy? Do you know what is economic policy? Do you know what is trade policy? Look all these policies and more go in tandem and we don't control that hence we are all in a zoo! Will local taxation industrialise a region when they don't even control policing? One useless policy from the centre will just render your local effort worthless. |

Obiagu1:Stop trying too hard to justify failures of your leaders. So the policies driven by Fashola and others to drive IGR in their respective states? Like I said, let me see what you have been able to achieve in your region first. You asked four questions of Do you? Be truthful to yourself, these challenges have been there when you were screaming #GEJTill2019, yet serious states governments were doing their best to break even. Like Senator Sani Shenu said, Biafra is a fall back to GEJ's 2015 defeat which you lots are yet to recover. Even the SS have moved on. |

kel4soft:That's not true GEJs defeat has nothing to do with Biafra. Check did I create this moniker after the defeat. Biafra was an idology, an under ground movement that we started in Nnewi to re-industrialize Igboland, to become a manufacturing hub. Some did vegetable or palm oil, cars, fish farming, car parts, commercial farming etc; we helped each other secure loans at low interest or no interest from those that could afford millions for the cause. Hence my name Biafranqueen because it has always been my dream to build up Anaedo aka Nnewi. I spoke about it to no end in 2011. We pressured Peter Obi and we secured grants from GEJ on a federal level. We are job creators and innovators, we were moving in shadows no noise, only one got besides himself running for Governor, blowing his money, making noise. These new ones are not strategizing and in fact talk of war can destroy what we have accomplished in the pass 6 years. Are losing GEJ was business not emotions. |

NOBLEDANDY:Don't be so defensive you guys are going no where with this rude toutish way you communicate. The educated and highly sucessessful people can not relate to the way you people are agiatating. Your guys suck at publicity , what I hear on Radio Biafra is a big turn off. Nobody will listen to those that have not built their own compounds in Igboland. The pictures you guys show of Nnamdi and his wife wearing Muslim garments is ludicris. Pictures of hungry and tattered guys with out dated guns is shameful. You guys need help promting your cause. |

biafranqueen:Entire kingdom ke ? can you educate us further on this your Biafran kingdom? Who are the kings that established and ruled the kingdom? Where are the historical, archeological and literary records? All you have written is just a figment of your imagination, you just dug up some highly inaccurate maps, with a biafara or biafar floating in the middle of nowhere and labelled it kingdom. Even in your map ( probably fake), your Biafra is not even situated in present day Igbo land, it was situated more in the Cameroons and central Africa. Now tell me when the Igbos started establishing kingdoms. |

biafranqueen:I was referring to Obiagu1 not you on fall back to GEJ's defeat. But seriously you have not told me how things will be different if you lots were asked to leave. You guys are still struggling to convince the SS to join you. SE is landlocked and your people who are business men are unwilling to support this course. The video that went viral on how Ndigbo in USA rejected Kanu's arms request with him receiving some home truth counselling he'll never forget. You seems to also defend the inability of your leaders to perform instead you are blaming the Federal for their failures which is really wrong. |

The Igbos, generally are fantastic people. They are very very accommodating to strangers, very industrious, very daring, very individualistic and hardly charitable. The force that drives them to individual greatness is what unfortunately pulls them apart as they move up the social ladder. Because wealth acquisition is foremost, every engagement is tailored towards that. Such mindset of money is 'king' is carried into politics. There is hardly a unifying ideology. A prolonged struggle cannot yield the desired result without a common ideology. and the spirit of sacrifice which I think are lacking amongst the Ibos. In the final analysis, the current agitation for Biafra results from the disappointment of the people from a political misadventure. It's sure to fizzle out but will never die |

Please read this peace from Dr. Ozodi Osuji, It burst your claim of Biafra kingdom being recognized by 1849 (some say since 5000 BC). Here are extracts; There are several ways of gathering historical material; one is from written documents, the other is through listening to oral history. |

wirinet:The reading culture is lost in Nigeria, so many scholars have written about it because unfortunately Imolites especially Arochukwus were shameless slave traders. Also the artifacts found during the Bronze age proves how far it went back. The Oxford History of the British Empire: The eighteenth century, Volume 2http://history.rutgers.edu/faculty-directory/149-brown-carolyn A final area of long standing interest is the slave trade in southeastern Nigeria, a very small area but which was the major source area of slaves in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The project ,'Memories of Sorrow and Loss, - the Slave Trade and Southeastern Nigeria’, involves interviewing people in southeastern Nigeria on the memory of the slave trade. We found that the memory is very strong and gives interesting new perspectives on the African side of the slave trade. It is sponsored by Rutgers, the Harriet Tubman Resource Center for Diaspora Studies [http://www.yorkuca/nhp/] at York University, Canada , the African Research Center, Enugu and the Schomburg Center of NYPL. In 2011 one volume was published from the project and was co-edited by Paul Lovejoy and Carolyn Brown, Repercussions of the Atlantic Slave Trade: The Interior of the Bight of Biafra and the African Diaspora. Other publications are to follow. |
