Mrs Grace Oyelude,a UAC employee won Miss Nigeria beauty pageant in 1957.She was given £200 for the award.She later used part of the money to travel to England where she studied nursing.It is wrongly believed by many Nigerians that Julie Coker was the first Miss Nigeria.Julie Coker is the first Miss Western Nigeria.She however used the title ‘Miss Nigeria’ during her official assignments in abroad.
