I suggest you start your search at the university, if you know is department all the better. see if you can find his name on the list of graduates
then, you can get more data from the school. he is most likely from bayelsa.

Pidggin:
People will always look for their father/mother even after many years of absence, this is why people fear adopting.

OP, I hope you find your dad, go to an artist and have him or her draw a picture of the way your father might look now(I hope this can be done here) there should be websites offering this service on the internet too, it will help.

Na Nigeria we dey no bi US. Artist impression for naija? We never reach.

@op,
I hope u find your dad. As much as I hate to say this finding Mr Fred Kuro might be the beginning of your search. U might want to take it further to include a DNA test. Don't be surprised if it turns up the unexpected bc a lot of free sex goes on in barracks. Always been so till today.
These soldier boys have nothing doing, all day and night other than have sex. The barracks is not a place to raise a girl child.

If DNA test fails then u may want to ask your mum of other possible liaisons she may have had about the same time. U can't blame her, at 30 u should understand these things.

Or u just forget about it all and live your life as happily as possible.

l am Sarah M. Sarki by name, am currently living in Yola, I was born on June 15th 1985 in Zaria Depot Army barracks in Officers qauters.
The Man I believed to be my father FREDERICK WOYINKURO or FRED KURO was from Rivers State. he was staying in my grandfathers (captain Msheliza sarki) BQ in the officers qauters Deport Army barrack Zaria as of then.
He then left Zaria for school in University of Science and technology portharcourt
The last time my mum told me she had contact with him was when he sent her a letter with a picture of himself with the following address University of Science and technology port Harcourt PMB.5080 at the back of the picture around 1989/1990. ever since she have not had or seen him.
I believe by now he should be in his late forties or early fifties.
Please if any one in this platform In anyways had come in contact with him or familar name in any way or have any information/details about him no matter how little it may be I will be very grateful becouse no information is too little to be considered
Thank you.
Attached to this is his photograph

The answer to your dad's whereabout lies in PH. Goggle his family name and write to all people on Facebook with that surname. Someone must know him or hopefully tell you his village. Once you enter his village - case solved. Good luck

Everfrank:

Take your search further and you shall find him if he is alive. If he isn't you can still locate your siblings and family.
His surname confirms he is a riverine Rivers Ijaw man of Kalahari extraction. The KURO is a suffix used to form a compound name like Tamunokuro, Woyinkuro etc. among the core Kalabaris. Narrow down your search to the core Kalabari areas of Buguma, Degema, Abonnema and surrounding areas.
I suggest you circulate your case and the picture to the several "kalabari" "Buguma" "Abonnema" "Degema" groups on Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and other social media.
You need to be accepted into these groups though. That means you need to create your accounts in each of these social media then request to join these groups.

NB
I am sorry to say that the Kalabaris are highly tribalistic and prideful and as such you may not be accepted into such groups with your surname Sarki. If so you may need to create accounts with neutral Christian names.
Zaki Iya amfani da suna irin nasu ma. Kuma kiyi hankali akwai 'yan damfara sosai a dandalinnan. Kar ki yarda ki biya ko kwabo ga kowa don ya taimaka miki. Allah ya bada sa'a.

Everfrank. I sent you an email through nairaland. Please respond. Thank you
