With the falling price of crude oil and the plan of Buhari to diversify the economy, I can boldly say Fayemi holds one of the ministries that is very vital. His goal will to tap the resources of the country for its growth.

I overheard some people saying kayode Fayemi has been relegated ? I think we need to think deeply about the relevance of the ministry given to him, Its not a matter of being juicy or not, the truth is nothing serious has been happening in the solid minerals ministry. Ministers have been coming in and going out without any reasonable and visible impact. As a graduate of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from FUTA, I've monitored the ministry since the days of Deziani Maduekwe and nothing serious has been acheived so far. If we really think deeply about the ministry given to fayemi, we will understand that the ministry needs to be revived and resuscitated, since the president want to diversify the economy. We went on a field trip to NIOMCO and Ajaokuta when I was in 300 level, I could not hold my tears because it has turned to a graveyard of economic policy. Imagine the blast furnace has never functioned since it was constructed ? There is a railway linking NIOMCO in itakpe to Ajaokuta. The purpose of the railway is to transfer iron ore from NIOMCO in itakpe to ajaokuta. There are so many pipelines that supplies gas from warri to power their machines, but none of the above has been effective. Fayemi is seriously in for a real brain work, This is his chance to shoot himself to limelight. Make Ajaokuta work, stop importation of chinese billets (semi-finished steel products), revive delta steel company, call the indians in ikirun rolling mills to order, employ graduates. My professor always say any nation that has the control of iron and steel controls the world. Buhari is interested in his brain and not his CV. I wish him success.

Here are the Agencies and Departments under him.

AGENCIES:
1. Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited
2. Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers
and Geoscience
3. Metallurgical Training Institute, Onitsha
4. National Iron Ore Mining Company (NIOMCO)
5. National Metallurgical Development
Centre, Jos
6. National Steel Raw Materials
Exploration Agency
7. Nigerian Geological Survey Agency
(NGSA)
8. Nigerian Institute of Mining and
Geosciences
9. Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office
10. The Nigeria Extractive Industry
Transparency Initiative (NEITI)
11.Nigerian Coal Corporation

DEPARTMENTS:
1. Aluminum
2. Artisanal & Small Scale Mining
3. Directorate, Office Of The Permanent
Secretary
4. Finance And Administration
5. Legal Unit
6. Metallurgical And Raw Material
Development
7. Mines Environmental Compliance
8. Mines Inspectorate
9. Mining Cadastre
10. Servicom Unit
11. Steel.
If only they can appoint people like you; you seem to have passion for your course. Why not write a letter to the new minister or the head of those agencies telling them what you can offer.

There is hardly any state in this country without a natural resource. Reviving the Delta Steel Company, Aladja and those in Ajaokuta and Itakpe, Kogi State should be his priority. If you drive pass the one in Itakpe, you'll weep for Nigeria when you see the weed that has taken over the premises.
Re: List Of Agencies And Departments Under Fayemi, As A Minister Of Solid Minerals by Ayomidegbenga1(m): 1:42pm On Nov 12, 2015
Fayemi should also look into the exploration of bitumen in ondo state. Bitumen happens to be a heavy hydrocarbon of which its barrel is three times the barrel of crude oil and of course, can be cracked and reformed through certain reactions to obtain other petroleum products such as petrol and even petrochemicals which serves as feed stocks to some chemical industries and agro-allied companies.
Re: List Of Agencies And Departments Under Fayemi, As A Minister Of Solid Minerals by flerKys(f): 1:43pm On Nov 12, 2015
If the ministry of solid minerals can be revived and promoted and upgraded then Nigeria will be great again as development process will require many skilled labour and as such will generate employment.

There are lots of solid minerals in our country and one of which is the precious stones that most Nigerians are not even aware of and the set of people benefiting from the sector will not want the federal government to even know anything about.

The minister of solid minerals has a lot of research to make about the sector and I believe that Nigeria and the present administration are on point.

As a graduate of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from FUTA, We went on a field trip to NIOMCO and Ajaokuta when I was in 300 level,

Cometal, I enjoy your perspective. We all pray the Minister works assiduously to revive the steel industry in Nigeria.
During our Field trip too, we were told Ajaokuta alone could accommodate 18,000 Metallurgical Engineers, beside Mech, Elect and other engineering career professionals. God bless JKFayemi with solid wisdom to tap Nigeria's solid minerals for a sustainable economic growth.
BTW, Cometal, I'm class '07, what of you?

when you're responsible, you will be faced with more responsibilities..."
Like the Yorubas will say, 'mofi s'owo osi mi' (I put it in my left hand) - meaning, I will always remember and not forget.
When Nigeria's new Ministers were inaugurated yesterday and their portfolios given to them, there was a particular man whose portfolio 'struck' me - Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (BRF), the immediate past Governor of Lagos State. He has been given a 3in1 portfolio - Power, Works and Housing. These are not ordinary but MAJOR ministries put together in one.
It is noteworthy that this is the first time in the history of this country, that three different ministries will be given to one man to handle, the highest we've ever had before this is two.
BRF is someone I respect so much; I love his leadership style, I followed/monitored his government as the Governor, he makes me want to step up my game every time I read or hear about his achievements.
I've always wanted to, and still want to be like Fashola - he is my Role Model. I will go for him anytime any day.
His integrity has never been questioned; he has this personal 'charm' and 'magnetism'; he will go for what he believes is right and stand by it; to me, he is a perfect example of an exceptional leadership.
His accomplishments and personal qualities have once again been recognised by his new portfolio as a Minister.
For me, THIS IS A CHALLENGE. It is a challenge because I am young, it is a challenge because he is my role model, it is a challenge because I am the future of this country - YOUTH!
This is my message to You:
The way to achieve the change that we desire is not just in chanting the change mantra. It is not just in declaration. We can only have a forestate of that glorious tomorrow through the way we conduct ourselves today by being always positive in all our approach and to be always true to what we say.
Let us begin to see ourselves as nation builders - as the future of this country. Let us first develop ourselves, then we can develop the nation - because there must be a changed man with a changed mindset before we can have a changed nation.
It begins with us here and now. Let us purge ourselves of indiscipline; let us make our union credible enough for everyone to believe in; let us antagonise corrupt and bad leadership at every level; let us do things that our future selves will be proud of; let us understand that the future of this nation depends solely on us and the kind of approach with which we tackle issues facing us.
Tomorrow belongs to us.

I do hope for the best, but going by his antecedents in Ekiti, especially with regards to mineral resources in the state, I don't expect much because even the ones in his hometown were neglected. since he is got a supervisor in person of Buhari and Nigerians, fingers crossed
