Troops, Friday morning repelled an attack by Boko Haram fighters in the Gwoza area.

Sources told DAILY POST that the sect members suspected to have come from Sambisa Forest opened fire on troops at about 4am.
In the ensuing battle that lasted about 3 hours, many fighters were killed as the fire power of the troops sent them scampering.

Many arms and ammunition were recovered.

Normalcy has returned to Gwoza.

Gwoza is one of the territories recovered recently by the Nigerian Army.

Its so painful that this insurgency of a thing is been politicised, this minute we hear that our able soldiers ve taken over sambisa forest and other strong holds of the insurgents, the next minute we hear of another attack from this same insurgents from the proposed territory our military claim to ve taken over, my main question still remains, where is the CHIBOK girls? and how come our military have rescued over a thousand plus persons that were captured by this same insurgents and how come we didn't hear of there adoptions, some many questions still left unanswered, just yesterday I read here on NL that the IG of police said that they ve lost up to 90,000 police officers to this same insurgents, if that is true then I can't imagine the number of civilian casualties, God alone will come to our resque............

Giving them target is very necessary especially given what we have gone through in Nigeria. It doesn't mean that the target date MUST be met but it gives you an indication of expectations from the C in C.

If BHT are not completely uprooted by the Dec target date, they will have been very significantly degraded at the rate we're going now. Even the deaf and the blind can attest to it that there have been enormous improvements in the last one month.
