From my researches in past times , I discovered three interpretations

1. Snakes had the power of speech before it was taken away from them - I've told plaetton this

2. The event was a mystical one - Satan used the snake as a tool meaning it possessed it which enabled it to talk or Satan spoke through the snake

3. The snake was humanoid and had a sexual interest in Eve and Satan discovering this used it . The snake beguiled Eve which implied seduction and slept with her to bring forth Cain . Cain was not totally human that's why he had that evil knowledge of murder - killing his own brother .

See , the third one could be heretical and I've always avoided using it . One and Two are the most sensible . Even the donkey in the Balaam's story was used as a tool to rebuke Balaam .

Chill out bro . At your own peril if you choose to ridicule the creation story
Oh gosh!

Snakes had the power of speech? huh

The snake was humanoid ? huh

Then Satan ( a yet to be defined imaginary entity) possessed the talking humanoid snake ,

And made the snake seduce Eve to bear Cain?

And you are a university student ? huh

I think you are benignly insane.
Seriously.

I wish you hadn't mentioned my name in this absurd assemblage of nonsense.

Again, today, as I ask every single day, .why does an educated African mind tend to be beholden to the magical, the absurd, the primitive worldview, even when the obvious stares them in the face ?

I'm sure you would have screamed "yay , you have gained mental sovereignty " if I told you that aliens engineered Eve's genes by sleeping with her grin or the snake was an alien in humanoid form who seduced Eve . grin

The Devil didn't do man a favor.

Genesis 3:22
Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—”

By eating of the tree if knowledge man missed out on eternal life. If man was obedient he would have gotten eternal life and would have had forever to learn good and evil.

This is reflected in science today. Scientists in biology have discovered how aging is programmed into the body and how cells have the potential to remain healthy forever. Man has increased in knowledge but remains helpless in the face of death. In fact, science has proven better at destroying life on a massive scale than creating it.
Your religion is making you dense and idiotic as the days go by. Why comparing Jewish mythology that has never done anything good for mankind to science that has helpleed in advancing and bettering the human struggle as a whole.

Christians, why are we suffering for the sin Adam and Eve committed in their own foolishness, when the Bible clearly states in Ezekiel 18:20: "20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. ?

Answer correctly and put these atheists to shame, once and for all time.

What is there to refute in a dumb narrative. Can you please tell me how eating a fruit from a tree causes knowledge of good and evil? What has Jewish mythology got to with anything?

Lol.... Bible also said the reverse in exodus 20:5

I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me.

and also Deuteronomy 5:9

I agree though, answer and put the atheists to shame once for all time wink

There are two sides to a coin and sometimes they fall the other way. The same Bible says in

Exodus 34:7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

That's the other side. God made a promise to Abraham that is evident to this day in the state of Israel. But the mistake of Abraham in being to hasty led to Ishmael whose descendants include Arabs that antagonize Israel. So Abraham's mistake had repercussions.

God didn't curse all generations. In fact the only curse involving other people was in Gen 3:15 when God said he will put enmity between the serpent's seed and the seed of the woman. God only cursed Adam, Eve and the serpent but because of the wrong actions the three took all humanity suffered. Thomas Edison's ingenuity helped generations and multitudes afterwards enjoy light and recorded music. Abacha's wickedness and looting costs Nigeria till this day. Darwin's theory has led to the rise of many atheists TILL NOW since he explained creation without God. So the reason why Adam's sin caused the death of all men is simply repercussions. He must have sen how Cain killed his younger brother. Thats what rebellion does. BTW in Gen 5:24 Enoch walked with God and God helped him escape death. His case is even BETTER THAN Jesus. Jesus died and rose again. Enoch and Elijah did not die. Enoch teleported to heaven while chariots took Elijah there.

Even if God didn't curse Adam, Eve and the serpent for the wrong their evil would still have been occurred given their new found knowledge of it. That's why they didn't like being naked and attempted to cover up themselves with fig leaves as one would expect from primitives. Their knowledge made them ashamed of their unclothedness, afraid of being with God who made them naked and made them to proud to apologize. Instead they played the blame game. So even if God didn't curse them they would still have messed creation up.

In conclusion, there are 3 magic words. Please, which is used to make a request. Thanks, when a request is granted and Sorry, when a request has been disobeyed. Why didn't Adam simply apologize for eating the fruit. Till today atheists still blame God for planting the tree and not Adam for eating it. They are impolite, and proud ingrates with respect to their Creator.

good point. except there probably was no concept for sorry then. they had just been created. they didn't know how sorry worked. the tree didn't give them good manners. only made them wiser.
observe children. they instinctively learn to shift blame without you teaching them. same thing with fairly intelligent animals. you have to teach them to take responsiblity. humans know this. you have to teach kids to say sorry, please, and thank you. being "wise" doesn't give you that.

so, i ask you, why didn't god tell him to shut up and say sorry?

why don't you start by reading the whole of genesis and showing me where satan was mentioned? undecided

even the book of genesis stated that the decision was solely that of the snake.
genesis 3:1-4
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”

4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
show me where satan was mentioned or even implied. or thunder fire that your fake bible. angry
Re: Answer This With An Open Mind by KingEbukasBlog(m): 3:04pm On Nov 14, 2015
Oh here's a more elucidated explanation . Just focus on the main issue

DoubleDeeX:
After fornicating with the serpent, Eve went back home and slept with her husband the same day, so it was a clear case of twins with different fathers. Google similar cases online; thanks for science we've come to the knowledge of things like that. Not all twins, triplets etc are from same parent. Sometimes they come from different parents when the woman sleep with more than one man in a day or two.

Have you ever wondered why Cain wasn't mentioned in Adam's genealogy? Because he wasn't from Adam. Adam's bloodline were godly children while Cain's were called children of men because they had no godliness in them...their Father Cain was from the serpent who wasn't created in the image of God. Ever wondered what inspired Cain to kill his brother even when God gave him a chance to make his sacrifice right and it would be accepted? It was Satan's anointing!

Genesis 3:20 - Adam changed his wife's name from woman to Eve meaning "Mother of all living" because not all that came from her womb were from him.

Jude 1:14: Enoch is said here to be the 7th from Adam because Cain wasn't from him (Adam) which was why he was not mentioned in Adam's genealogy Genesis 4:2-24. If Cain was mentioned, Enoch would have been the 8th from Adam.

There are many scriptures I could used to prove to you that this doctrine is biblical but I'm a little occupied right now. I will find time to write a comprehensive article on it, Christians need to know the truth. Satan wants the truth to be concealed so he could use it to promote adultery and fornication; the very sin that reduced man to what he is today! That's why God frowns at fornication and adultery so much!

this is the most sexist thing i've ever read in my entire life. anyway.

1. Adam did not sleep with eve until they had been expelled from the garden.

2. Cain was not mentioned in Adam's genealogy because he was irrelevant in the scheme of things. i.e HIS genealogy didn't lead to jesus.

3. Adam also had several other children. not just Cain. Abel and these other children were not mentioned. of obvious reasons.

4. the bible never mentioned that the snake slept with eve. nor did it imply such a thing.

5. satan does not exist in genesis.

chapter and verses please?

the reference in isaiah is ridiculous. for several reasons.

1. the verse clearly implies that whoever it was they were talking about came about AFTER the creation stories. when there were many kingdoms and people. in verse 12, in the last line, it says, you who once laid low the nation.

2. the verse was NOT talking about satan. it was talking about the king of babylon. it is supposed to be a taunt that the israelites were supposed to use against the king of babylon when "the lord" must have defeated him. check verse 3 and keep reading till you finish the chapter (chapter 14) and come and show me where isaiah said he was talking about satan. undecided

the reference in job is not the satan in the new testament. he is an angel of the lord in the that book. a son of God in fact. wink
