Lie! it is absolutely true that in south west it's sex before marriage. May be that account for the low abortion rate there. The act of given birth before marriage as a way of attesting and confirming fertility of intended couple is an acceptable norm and value in the south western part of nigeria. That is, pre marital birth is not only an accepted tradition but also celebrated. Therefore, of what value is abortion there?
In contrast, pre marital sex is an aberration in most communities and frown at should a woman not wedded seen impregnated. That is tradition in almost all part of nigeria, except south west, of which I have stated the reason above. Thus, empirically abortion rate should be lower in south west.
It's not that the ''south west people are educated'' neither is it that they ''follow the holy books'' that explained the low abortion rate there.
A host of researches have been conducted on teenage pregnancy and pre marital birth at which the south west came first
