Honestly1:

Nigger if you continue like this, you won't achieve much in life. This is a hard fact. Just imagine. Just because u didn't make first class or whatever shii, you refuse to celebrate ur graduation. If you thought you missed social life in school just because you wanted to come out with first class and unfortunately you didn't, you are wrong. If you had priorities ur time well, knowing what to do per time you would have done better. And besides if ure meant to come out with 2.2 no matter what u do, u go still hit ur 2.2. So don't blame anything for ur result. Now talking about 2.2 who told you Brilliancy is equal to intelligence? In this life ive seen foolish first class holders. Ur school results has nothing to do with where ure getting to in life. Just wake upz cheer up, dust it, go and have fun, do enjoy the social life now and make contact cos i tell u, if u miss that convocation, you might miss some contacts for life. Bye.

I am however dissapointed or nevertheless, full of pity for a good friend of mine passing out with a 2.2 in mechanical engineering..
He is ashamed of himself and his failure to attain a better grade though he's versatile in his field of study and profficient in the use of engineering softwares to solve problems- a feat i envy him for.
Dear ever gallant nairalanders, how can i help my friend who is in a state of depression?..

abeg, i don finish now ooo.. me sef need job oooo..quote me if you've got one.. thank you

Tell your friend to stop deceiving himself. He still wants to hang around girls to forget his 2.2. Na only parties, gangs and some kind babes fit make you drop from first class to 2.2

Keep deceiving yourself. Second class upper is the same throughout the globe. If you know that you can graduate with first-class in any institution try port there to avoid story after graduation..

Infact, one just left for his masters program in the the prestigious Texas A & M in USA. Your friend should not be demoralised. He needs the right information. Tell him to contact me. I had d same exact experience I was jus too close, it hurts so bad if I had a low 2.2 I wunt feel ds bad. Bt I was encouraged by my mum 2 make d best of wat I have, go 4 ur M.sc n do beta who will look @ ur B.sc.
Ds guy has all reason 2 celebrate der r those he started with dat either dropped out, had C.O, some even died along d way, its wat u do wit wat u hv dat matters.

Hmm....this reminded me of myself some years ago. I consider myself a serious and hardworking student, no significant social life, the Fellowship type and moral. Started the B.eng race with a stable 2.1 grade and by the time I was in my final year, I needed just a CGPa of 3.8 to clinch a 2.1 and at 1st semester, I was on track..however, 2nd sem devastated my dream and with 3 unexplained E's on 3-3 unit courses, the damage was irreversible(2.2). I went to my Asst. Dean of faculty to apply 4 a voluntary spill and carry overs and his answer was this: you have no problem dat he can't honor my request to Fail courses I passed. I was emotionally wrecked, I became reclusive and withdrew to my shell...it was my immediate family members(mum especially) that encouraged me. I didn't attend my convocation tho I was in town that week(still Felt the pains then), however, that was 5 years ago now...tho a setback, heaven has smiled on me, I served, went 4 my masters and now my 2nd degree has made up 4 that, also, got an engineering design job with travelling experience..i think u'll be ok...cry, mourn but get over it...life is beyond 2.1.cheers!

By the way, why can't Nigerian "graduates" write a simple proper English? It's annoying seeing what those who call themselves graduates write as English.

Nigerian Universities chunk out illiterate graduates yearly, which is very disappointing and pathetic!

He should, i graduated with Lower (HND) because of health challenge. Carry 2 3units course over in my HND 1 because I dont stay in classes schedule after 12am, can't read just listen to lectures and that's what I use to write exam plus financial constraint too, only few people understand. My brother its not our choice and we shouldn't allow it to depress us, just go and have fun for being alive to celebrate it, many started with you but drop out or no more with us, they even wish to be you.

For me I will be going 5th Dec

I started with a GP of 4.05....and stil I made 2.2.
It doesn't discourage me a bit cos I know my potential..... Not trying to console myself but rather to spur myself on.....

My course mate that pass out with upper, distinction are all looking for job but why few of us that pass out with lower division n pass but strictly chooses entrepreneurship as passion are busy counting our Thousands and million in our company or personal account..... grin

Even the second degree programme am currently undergoing right now, only heaven knows that dropout is only over me.....
Lastly, school is quiet ok but no research has approve it makes the most successful great men in the world.....

Please tell ur friend to remember those with 3rd class, those that had split over, those that died while in school as well as people who didn't even have the opportunity to be in any higher institution at all may be he might have a rethink.
