What is the problem with many Nigerians? Even after FIFA cleared them using the MRI scan, many Nigerians are angry their U17 team succeeded. There is no proof of these boys being over aged. There is a proof of them being U17 with the MRI scan. So my question with the haters is, What is your problem? |
| Re: Give Our Age Grade Teams A Break! by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:34am On Nov 18, 2015 |
Jiggaman2:Then one of the proof of the so called haters is their physical appearance. There is nothing like young face. We are in Nigeria, most Nigerians, at 25-28, can not look like that. Compare them to Nigerians and not Europeans. Those are real U20 players. So the haters can scream as much as they like, we will continue going places. |

Safarigirl, the thing you should understand is _ the average Nigerian isn't satisfied with what he/she has attained at a given age. In order to console themselves and feel alright, they keep doubting ages of people doing well. It's worst when the person is young. Trust me, I understand their pain. ![]() I really don't know the ages of those guys, I am speaking from a general view. Except you have a selfie you took with my momma in the labour room, no try doubt my age mbok. ![]() |

safarigirl:You are very sensible. I have advised Seun several times about the attitude of his moderators and a need to train them but they keep posting unverifiable stories on the front page. |

Foolish OP. That other nations are doing it doesn't make it right. The Papa Eaglets thread was one of the most refreshing threads I've seen on FP in a while.People like you fail to look at the big picture and that is why you can spew this emotional garbage and be happy that you have done something.Imagine a world cup that Nigeria is almost always winning. It's people like you that are responsible for all the problems in this country because you fail to realise that your desire to fraudulently get quick victory today will have consequences tomorrow.Personally I suggest that these players be subjected to random polygraph tests before, during and after the competition. At least it will take a while before those 'kids' learn how to beat the polygraph. |

Z semid4lyfe:Stop giving false info. How many players from Nigeria 2013 under 17 took part in the World Cup? 0 that's the answer in fact non of the past winners 17 from other countries ever took part in the senior World Cup two years after winning the under 17 cup. |

Abegii, make we hear word! If u are close to this players u will know dat dey are Age cheats. In dis article, I didn't see d writer showing us evidence abt the true age of som of dis players. Nobody shd yap abt MRI. In d other article "Papa eaglets and our cheating culture," several references were made to age cheats like Siasia and co. All dis emotional hogwash is pure pretence. We are fond of being too sentimental in dis country. Let's kill sentiments an watch dis country develop fast!! |
| Re: Give Our Age Grade Teams A Break! by Jiggaman2: 7:42am On Nov 18, 2015 |
TheGoodJoe:Africans are known age cheaters, Nigerians and Ghanaians does it the best. We need to tell ourself the truth and fix it. Most Africans in America look younger than their American counterpart of the same age. |
| Re: Give Our Age Grade Teams A Break! by TruthHurts1(m): 7:43am On Nov 18, 2015 |
I'm now convinced more than ever that Nigerians are there own worst enemies. Self criticism and the ability to be honest with one's self are qualities which are encouraged elsewhere but looked upon with animosity and suspicion in Nigeria. As far as I'm concerned, the author of "Papa Eaglets" may not have the answers to Nigeria's age cheating problem, but unlike the author of this idiotic rebuttal he is at least asking the right questions. |

2sex:So are you saying there's shame in being truthful? I wonder when we will understand integrity does not come into play only when a particular situation suits you |
| Re: Give Our Age Grade Teams A Break! by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:45am On Nov 18, 2015 |
Okobaba1:Abegii, FIFA say they are U17, you say it is nonsense because of Samson Siasia's era. Ridiculous. You guys have nothing against them except hate. |

Enough said, safarigirl. God bless you for this. I actually dont like replying people who just think others has no reason to succeed in life even when they themselves are still struggling. They'll always look for reasons why you arent supposed to be where you are and play God with every progress other made in life. I have no time for such set of pple. |
| Re: Give Our Age Grade Teams A Break! by Nobody: 7:46am On Nov 18, 2015 |
Ranchhoddas:wtf are you talking about? even with the MRI scan you're not still satisfied! you still want polygraph test? na wa for you o! those kids won fair and square, there was no cheating. |
| Re: Give Our Age Grade Teams A Break! by An0nimus: 7:47am On Nov 18, 2015 |
Away from this topic, moving stuff to frontpage has little to do with if it's the right thing or not. The real criteria (I believe) is if it'll drive traffic. If a topic looks interesting, click-bait worthy and probably controversial then it could be moved to the frontpage. No sentiments attached. @OP I half expected this counter thread and from the OP too. It's sad how we hate our own success. I am not endorsing cheating or anything but if FIFA says our boys scaled the MRI scan test and are U17 why the continued bickering? In case some of have not noticed, our U17 boys now look younger and truer to their age than the ones in the much older editions of the tournament. It shows that something is changing. |

michlan:He is saying, people mask their hate with the idea of being truthful. Some people feel talking bad about Nigeria makes them truthful but they fail to notice any good thing about Nigeria because of their so called truth. |

phrezzz:England did not qualify for the '09 world cup. They were at '07 ad I inky addressed the '07 set. MRI was introduced in '09 not 2013.... |
| Re: Give Our Age Grade Teams A Break! by TruthHurts1(m): 7:49am On Nov 18, 2015 |
Brazil has won the U-17 World Cup 3 times and has won the REAL World Cup 5 times. Nigeria has NEVER gone beyond the 2nd round of the REAL World Cup, but has won the SCHOOLBOY World Cup 5 times. Germany and Italy have never won the SCHOOLBOY World Cup, yet they've both won the REAL World Cup 4 times. |
| Re: Give Our Age Grade Teams A Break! by Bollinger(m): 7:50am On Nov 18, 2015 |
TheGoodJoe:Post, pre or whatever does not change the fact that we cheat at age grade level competitions. I say again, go to neighborhood matches, age level competitions and ask how old these guys are and maybe your eyes will open. The only reason we get away with it is because of the natural physical attributes of the players of the countries we play against. They are naturally which makes it easy for us to hide amongst the crowd. |
| Re: Give Our Age Grade Teams A Break! by An0nimus: 7:50am On Nov 18, 2015 |
coollabman:Even if the boys do a polygraph test and we still win the U17 cup. They'll say a babalawo gave us jazz that we used to beat the polygraph ![]() |
| Re: Give Our Age Grade Teams A Break! by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:50am On Nov 18, 2015 |
Jiggaman2:Africans are known, I agree. Is there anyone on this thread denying that? Did FIFA deny that? That is why the MRI scan was introduced to check it. Now, Age cheating in the U17 is reduced to the minimum. So you can not argue with a scientific proof because of "Are Known To". Tell yourself the truth. Read on the MRI scan. |

Bollinger:Anuofia! Stop giving examples from the past. Apart from European countries and the US, it's very obvious that other countries cheated also in the past. Presently, the MRI scan is the standard for age verification. Get that into your thick skull |

MathsChic:For that Swiss under 17 winning team google the names Ricardo Rodriguez and Granit Xhaka |
| Re: Give Our Age Grade Teams A Break! by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:52am On Nov 18, 2015 |
Bollinger:How does that add to the argument. If you bring an over age player, FIFA will screen him out with the MRI scan. So if I watch over age players play, it would not change the fact that our current U17 team is U17. |
| Re: Give Our Age Grade Teams A Break! by Nobody: 7:53am On Nov 18, 2015 |
An0nimus:lol! no mind them! Nigerians can surprise me at times! |
| Re: Give Our Age Grade Teams A Break! by An0nimus: 7:54am On Nov 18, 2015 |
Bollinger:What is your recommendation to FIFA to stop age grade cheating across board. Now that you're indirectly saying the MRI scan is a failure. |
| Re: Give Our Age Grade Teams A Break! by Bollinger(m): 7:54am On Nov 18, 2015 |
jonathanOz:Nice logic. So, because someone cheated, so should you. Ok. Got it. Now we know you are a true Nigerian. Lol..... |

coollabman:fair and square indeed, the MRI is not foolproof.Read the papa eaglets thread on FP and read it slowly. |
| Re: Give Our Age Grade Teams A Break! by Bollinger(m): 7:57am On Nov 18, 2015 |
An0nimus:Not stop the age grade. The way forward is to educate all countries not to cheat and not lose sight of the big picture. The aim of age grade football is to nurture talents of the future. Instant glory won't do us any good as evident from past championships. |
