Mark Zuckerberg
We've activated Safety Check again after the bombing in Nigeria this evening.
After the Paris attacks last week, we made the decision to use Safety Check for more tragic events like this going forward. We're now working quickly to develop criteria for the new policy and determine when and how this service can be most useful.
Unfortunately, these kinds of events are all too common, so I won't post about all of them. A loss of human life anywhere is a tragedy, and we're committed to doing our part to help people in more of these situations.
In times like this, it's important to remind ourselves that despite the alarming frequency of these terrible events, violence is actually at an all-time low in history and continues to decline.Deaths from war are lower than ever, murder rates are generally dropping around the world, and -- although it's hard to believe -- even terrorist attacks are declining.
Please don't let a small minority of extremists make you pessimistic about our future.
Every member of our community spreads empathy and understanding on a daily basis. We are all connecting the world together. And if we all do our part, then one day there may no longer be attacks like this.

Just that THEY won't allow it work in Nigeria.
Even when the American Anti-Terror Squad came to Nigeria to assist
in the fight of Boko-Haram, they were frustrated as those Boko idiots
get to know of attack strategises which was leaked by members of
the lipsrsealed

My fellow country-people, na prayer sure pass

Even though it is a good development, my fellow Nigerians that are not in the area of casualty will misuse it.

He's right about the frequency of violence dropping. People only think it's on the rise because the internet fast tracks information nowadays.

Re: Bomb Blast In Nigeria: Facebook Activates Safety Check by Orikinla(m): 8:39am On Nov 18, 2015
Yes, racial profiling is unavoidable in anti-terror intelligence.
I overheard a group of Hausa "Okada" motorcyclists in Lagos whispering about Boko Haram and Kano and I alerted the nation on Nairaland and sent alerts to Aso Villa through Twitter three hours before the terrorists' attacks last night in Yola, the Adamawa State capital in northern Nigeria, because Boko Haram and ISIL are now working with precision one step after the other. A Boko Haram attack follows after any ISIL's attack and Nigeria was mentioned on their Twitter accounts after their attacks on Paris.
Their next major targets will be in December during the Christmas vacations. So, EU must cancel all Schengen Visas until further notice.

If the Nigerian and foreign intelligence agencies had followed my reports on Boko Haram's movement since 2011, on Nigerian Times, http://nigeriantimes..com.ng/search?q=Boko+HarAm, the terrorists would not have increased so far. But failure of military intelligence has caused the failures in the operations against Boko Haram and ISIL.
See the following report on
2015 Global Terrorism Index: Deaths From Terrorism Increased 80% Last Year to the Highest Level Ever; Global Economic Cost of Terrorism Reached All-Time High at US$52.9 Billion

And some ignoramuses would be feeling as if the world isn't sensitive to our matters.

Problem is, we don't take our selves seriously and that's why the world doesn't take us seriously. It doesn't mean they aren't sensitive to our matters

The best thing is to start ostracise and keep Muslims on a very close watch. They are all terrorists or terrorists sympathisers.
