A statement issued by his special adviser on media, Mr. Uche Anichukwu which recounted the incident read thus:

“The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, escaped suspected assassination attempt, Tuesday.

“The attempt occurred at about 10:00am between Apo Flyover and Dantata Construction Company’s yard, close to the Old Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Headquarters junction on his way to work.

“The suspected assassins who operated in a tinted, white-coloured Mercedez Benz AMG E63 without a plate number, were chauffeured by a long-bearded light skinned foreigner, apparently a mercenary.

“The vehicle, which was positioned by the Apo Bridge, on noticing that the Deputy President of the Senate’s convoy took the right turn to join the Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway instead, made a turn. The occupants attempted to attack the convoy, but were blocked.1 The driver violently broke into the convoy and they made several frantic attempts to attack the Senator’s official car.”

In the heat of the election campaigns, after the assination attempt by some elements on the now President of the Federal republic of Nigeria with a bomb their were multiple threads claiming attack was scripted and Buhari played with a bomb and 1 or 2 of this threads made FP.

It is amazing that the same elements who saw a bomb attack as stage managed are the ones pointing accusing fingers and making lots of dumb comments about an alleged assassination attempt that no single shot was fired. Is this not laughable

What is most astonishing about the story is the fact the incident just began and ended like a boring movie. How could such a brazen attempt be made on the life of the 5th citizen of the country and no chase was given the assailants!!??

Did they just "disappear" after ramming into the convoy or what?? Who were the eye witnesses and why isn't the media awash with the story?? It just made headline for a day and then vanished like nothing happened!

The tinted vehicle attacked from a flank yet they could see a "bearded man" in the vehicle- did the security details of the DSP have night vision goggles on Was the road closed to traffic during the incident?? How come no other private vehicle was involved??

If it were some "bearded" guy (cleverly trying to tell us it was a muslim) that ran into the convoy in an attempt to kill the DSP, what's the logic in doing so when
the vehicle wasn't laden with explosives, or did the trigger of the bombs fail?? If it was some "bearded guy, wasn't it supposed to be a suicide bomber ("bearded" people's weapon of choice)?? Was he planning to ram the convoy and then jump out the car to finish the job using a rifle only to get shot and killed in the process

In which direction did the assailants flee after the botched "assassination attempt"??

There are a billion questions that could be asked regarding this incident honestly. The stories are just not adding up.
