What a shame. So shall they continue to expose themselves unwittingly.

As the anti corruption war rages, these hitherto untouchables would begin to rat themselves out just to save their own hyde. These men stole so much money they could actually wage a successful proxy war against a sovereign state- what some of them have doing to an extent with Boko Haram, and most recently, IPOD.

We can all see why security operatives were insistent on keeping the man within the shores of the country. Any false move and the renegade would have been gone forever!

The courts should be very careful the kind of judgements they grant when issues bordering on national security are taken before them. Now this man has started singing like a canary, shooting himself in the foot at every turn- imagine what might have been had he succeeded in leaving the country!

The outcome of the anticorruption war would to a large extent determine the country's fate, especially in this very trying times when our purse have been thinning due to unfavourable conditions in the international oil market. There's no gainsaying recoveries made from these crooks could finance the national budget for a couple of years.

I'm hopeful Nigeria will pull through this stormy weather.

Nice observation Modath.
Your comments are a delight to read any day and time....well said

All we're asking is for Dasuki to have his day in court, not the panel set up where the accused wasn't allowed to testify, jungle justice101.

He will definitely have his day.

The panel was simply set to sing fela's song "u be thief"

Then Dansuki in court will reply "i no be thief"

Datz all

That is after failing to get court injuction that the "stealing" in the paper served was not properly spelt and hence he should not be tried.

Good Gracious Me! Did I defend him? I only said that due process should be adhered to and the rule of law not swept under the rug...

Secondly, Buhari and Dasuki's beef no be today... They've been at loggerheads since 1985. Would it be wrong to assert that Buhari’s trying to get even seeing this man co-led the mutiny that toppled him? Sure you can't ignore that fact or rule it out completely... Can you?
They may have personal beef, thats not our business. Did he or did he not deny something then reverse his denial? Or are you going to say he spoke under duress?

What the man is seeing is that he doesn't SIGN Checks ....he only prepare the way for the checks to be signed by approving of the purchases (sort of clearance for purchase). All budgetary allocations for the Ministry of Defence is managed by the ministry naaaau ....IMO sad

So when GEJ was in Aso Rock as the CnC he was so ineffective and completely useless as a leader to the extend that he couldn't get hold of any evidence to Pin PMB down as the sponsor of Boko Haram, abi?

Dasuki may have not stolen defence budgets (as he claims), but 2 things I'm sure of are:

1. Massive chunks of defence budgets meant for the war against Bokoharam was stolen, thereby rendering our military spineless and leading to the unfortunate loss of thousands of lives.
2. He may or may not be involved, but Dasuki surely knows the culprits who stole and/or diverted the funds meant for arming the military.

My only advice and prayer is that the defence budget expenditures within the prevailing period should be thoroughly investigated and the investigations should not be politicised (like all other probes in Nigeria). Politicising security issues of this nature and throwing blames around across party lines was the reason behind the rise and rise of terrorism. Approximately N1trillion was budgeted for defence every single year since 2010, but still, our soldiers kept complaining of lack of basic things like bullets up until this year when thousands had already lost their lives and others deserted. Those moneys did not just grow wings, someone pocketed them. This is not an issue to trivialise with political sentiments or tribalism. The guys who stole or misappropriated these funds are the very guys who rendered Jonathan's administration useless.

Political/tribal/religious leanings need to be put aside for this particular case because it directly affects us all. I can't thank God enough that the person involved is even of the same ethnicity and religion with Buhari, else the distractions would have been insurmountable.

God bless your wisdom... You understand the atmosphere perfectly.

It is generating major heat on twitter already & the fire was ignited by known PDP attack dog @ayedee ..

I know @ayedee is no better than a mercenary but I never expected this from him.

Too soon !!

@Pryce, In the interest of national security, I sincerely do hope you won't defend this guy any further.....

Cc , zimoni , omenka , beremx , seunmsg, passingshot , egift , midolian , quotasystem , rawani , obailala , sandraokosun , gbawe, Ngeneukwenu, dustmalik , iyaIode . Etc..

Ayedee has left the wailing crew since after the elections even though he still spot out some misgivings about the new government once in a while. In fact, he has defended the president in many actions, including the delay in ministerial nominations and subsequent appointments even more than core supporters on Twitter. On Dasuki, he claimed to have damning evidence of criminal negligence and corruption on him. He agrees GEJ was surrounded by very corrupt people but absolved and named him as a man who meant well. Although that sounds like not totally owning up to his initial errors of going all out against this president, who he now supports strongly, with lots of innuendos.

Bottom line is the amount of beef Jonathanians have for him on Twitter at the moment can spark a war bigger than that of BH.

You can say that again. I should be the last person to be against the former security chief, but the bloody repercurssions of his corrupt practices makes it absolutely impossible to even sit on the fence, not to talk of defending him like our resident IPOB abobaku's are doing.
