Did you the news at all, was it Saraki that brought the petition or you expect him to throw it away? you mean if a better petition is brought that will better your life is brought before it, he should continue throwing them away. Pls be reasonable for once and stop reading politics to everything.

Whatever comes out of the Investigation might be ignored, this same committee report on Amaechi was ignored so even if this CCT chairman is found guilty and prosecuted then Amaechi isn't qualified as a minister...

This is a different case. That of Amaechi is already in court and the rule or order of the senate is that they don't dabble into issue already in court. PDP knew that but because of bitter mind they have against him, they just wish he cannot be screened. Danladi has no court case and can be investigated by the senate or house of reps.

I can see how desperate Saraki is. He is using his powers well. I won't be surprised if he goes ahead to instigate a process to abolish the CCT in its entirety.

Bukola Saraki is like a man drowning in the sea. This man will hold on to anything even shrubs just to stay afloat.

Saraki is employing all means possible to elongate his trail and possibly thrash it under the carpet.

But only time will tell if he will retain his current position as a Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and for how long...

For the pass 6months the senate has failed to attend to national issues (the job the masses sent them to perform on their behalf). Instead they attend to their personal selfish interest.

One of the major reasons for fuel scarcity is their (Senate) failure to approve the monies to pay the subsidy guys.

Mr. Man, are you in the known of this Danladi's case. This case is never new and Danladi's aide had admitted collecting the bribe. The case had been referred to EFCC but they didn't do anything about it. The DCG custom had also agreed that he gave the money but the EFCC conspiracy of silence made some senators raise the dust again. So, is not a case of Saraki alone. There's a saying that he that comes to equity must come with clean hand. There's no small corruption. Farouk Lawal lost his worth due to bribe taking from Otedola. Let him clear himself also as Saraki clear himself.

Nobody holly pass. For this country from tinumbu to obj to buhari etc all are fraudstars.

Will that removes the daunting evidence against Saraki? Or will it stopped the ministry of justice from pursing the case?
If Saraki succeeded in forcing Umar removal, he should expect PMB to influence the appointment of another no nonsense judge to tried him

Those of you that doesn't know anything about constitutional provision should as a matter of urgency stop contributing to an important issue. If Danladi is removed today. No body can replace him, except he/she pass through the senate for confirmation. CCT is not a conventional court but administrative panel. The senate can continue rejecting nominees from the president till the end of the 4 years tenure.

We need result please. Setting Committee upon Committee is not what Nigerians want but what comes out of the investigation. We are in the new era and things should be done in the right manner.

These senate people are dunces. So when did senate become EFCC or ICPC or Police to now begin to investigate corrupt people? Please, a gateman around my area stole a chicken, can you help investigate him? Also, my barber did not cut my hair the way I wanted, can you investigate him too? (Readers should feel free to add their own complaint) Please set up both sitting and standing committees as the case may take long and they may get tired of standing.
People should watch out, this senate is heading for a clash with Executive arm of government with this propensity to over step their boundaries. I wonder if Saraki has become president as well with the way the senate gives out directive. They will soon direct Buhari to hand over to Ekweremadu.

Now Saraki wants the senate committee on ethics and previledge to investigate a 10m corruption bribe case against the CCT chairman but when the same committee on ethics and previldge brought a corruption case against Amaechi's ministerial nomination, they regect it despite the was still pending in court and went ahead to screen Amaechi. Is this the way they want to drive this country? May God help us..

Mr. Man, if you cannot think, you should be able to read. The article didn't say Saraki initiated the probe but a member of the senate from Ebonyi state. If you're trying to blame him for receiving petition from a senate member, you should also blame him if he reject any bill that will better your life.
On your second line. CCT is not a conventional court but administrative panel and no one can just use it as toil in their hands. If Danladi resigned or sacked today by the recommendation of the 2/3 of the senate, the new Justice would have to go to senate for approval.

The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki on Thursday requested the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions to investigate a petition filed against the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, Mr. Danladi Umar.

A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator from Ebonyi State, Obinna Ogba had submitted the petition bordering on alleged corruption and abuse of office by the CCT Chairman.

The ethics committee is expected to submit its report to the Upper Chamber in two weeks.
