The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Abubakar Audu, has emerged winner of the Kogi State Governorship election held on Saturday.
With just one local government to go, Mr. Audu has so far garnered APC 220, 436 votes as against the 188, 942 votes scored by his closest challenger, Ibrahim Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party.
APC defeated the People’s Democratic Party candidate and incumbent, Idris Wada in 15 of the 20 local government areas already declared.
The local governments won by Audu are Ofu, Ida, Kabba Bunu, Yagba East, Yagba West, Adavi, Koton Karfi, Ankpa, Okehi, Ajaokuta, Ijumun, Olamaboro, Igalamela, Bassa, Lokoja, local governments.
The PDP was victorious in five local governments namely Ogori Mangogo, Omala, Okene, Dekina and Mopa-moro local governments.
Ibaji Local government is still pending and would soon be announced.

Apart from being the incumbent governor, Wada contested on a very popular political platform. The choice of party can not be an excuse for losing. He was simply chased out for his incompetence.
