Dead?This is a big lesson for all all.One day you are planning for a big occassion and death is also making its plans.No one should politicise this as anyone can actually drop dead any minute.If true.may the good LORD grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.I advise all security forces to be alert as some miscreants could cash in on this and cause chaos in the state. |

NgeneUkwenu: You and Barcanista are wrong. The election is inconclusive hence technically no mandate. The certificate of return has not been issued to Audu hence his deputy can't assume APC gubernatorial candidature by mere appointment. The electoral law clearly states that in event of the death of governorship candidate, the election should be postponed by a given period to allow the party to substitute its candidate. From the above provision, there is no mention of the deputy standing for his principal. In my own opinion, the election will be re-conducted while APC will have to resubmit names of their candidate and the deputy. No certificate of return, no claim of mandate by political party hence the deputy can't run alone in the rescheduled election nor can he replace the dully elected party flag bearer. 2 Likes 1 Share |
