Immediately I saw this thread, I laughed. The reason is, the government of Akwa-ibom state is playing politics with it. Akpabio did for 8 years and now, his successor, Udom is following the same path. |

Udmaster:This is the exact widespread paranoid mentality that has held down and arrested the development of the South East zone since 1970 when the war ended; persecution-complex and victim mentality. The problem is a problem of the mind. |

kel4soft: Despite the yearly allocation of several billions of naira for the construction of a proposed greenfield deep seaport at Ibaka in Akwa Ibom State by both the State Government and the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) since 2011, the project has remained elusive, with no evidence of a port being built at the proposed site.Akpabio budgets billions every year for this invisible seaport. 1. Ibaka seaport is not in the FG gazette and there is zero FG budget for it. Meaning the FG doesn't know anything about this seaport officially 2. Akpabio budgets billions for this bridge every year with not even bush clearing or fence erected. Meaning Akpabio pockets free billions every year. |

Niger deltans need just 3 policies A deep sea port in Niger delta The relocation of Oil and gas industry headquarters to the Niger Delta The entrenchment of real federalism into Nigeria where revenue is shared based on contributions and not population. |

Hopeathand has chained Ibaka Seaport and thrown the key into Atlantic ocean. ![]() Well, if Akpabio has used the monies from just two of the four unnecessary flyovers, that useless stadium and the very useless Hilton abi na Sheraton hotel to invest in Ibaka seaport, the project would have been long delivered.. because he misplaced his priorities, this is where it has left the seaport. |

Udmaster:Hausa/ Fulani believe that Igbo will import arms trough there to disintegrate the country. Nigerian government denied us some critical infrastructures because of Igbo. Any meaning ful development in SS must surely positively affect Igbo in SE and those living in SS. How many seaports do we have in Niger Delta? Why are they not working? What of refineries? That is why i am supporting Biafra because of Ibaka seaport, my area |

addy00:My bro why are u saying this? Some of my best friends are Oronians but the way oron hates ibibio and other ethnic groups in akwa ibom is shocking. It was on public tv that i heard akpabio begged jonathan to convert maritime to a university. He even went ahead to bragged about the advantages of having maritime as a fully established university. I was amazed the way he spoke and tried convincing the then president. Oro nation hasnt benefited from any government better than akpabio's regime. Go back and check oro nation during attah's era. I'm from eket, not annang or ibibio, but i dont lik d way u guys sideline urselves and make people feels ure better than others. That's not just cool |

TonyeBarcanista:I just told him that. A typical oronian doesn't like other parts of d state and its bad. I feel bad. No state government can embark on a deep sea port project. No state can do that and ive always told them. The fg seems to ignore the ibaka deep sea port and i dont know d reason |

Honestly I cannot understand why Ibaka deep seaport has not beem constructed till now. I cannot understand why Apapa is the only real functioning seaport in a country as big as Nigeria. Constructing Ibaka seaport will go a long way in decongesting Lagos which is already overpopulated. |
| Re: What Is Delaying Ibaka Deep Seaport? by TonyeBarcanista(m): 8:34am On Nov 24, 2015 |
You speak NO truth but a bias opinion that you assume to be truth. First, you alleged that Ibibios and Annangs feel inferior to Oron and Efik. Now you are changing story. Secondly, you alleged that Akpabio marginalised Oron nation because of the hatred he/Ibibio has for Oron... That again is flawed. It is flawed because you are only assuming that the reason Akpabio margibalised oron is because of the hatred Ibibio has for Oron instead of because he failed in that aspect. Were you present at any meeting or seminar where it was agreed by 60% Ibibios that Akpabio should marginalise you guys? Have you done any reasearch to establish that fact? You need help! Go solve your problems with your brothers/neighbours and stop this embarrassment. Thanks addy00: |

| Re: What Is Delaying Ibaka Deep Seaport? by Nobody: 8:53am On Nov 24, 2015 |
nigerianvenom:There is no plausible reason that can be given as to why Ibaka seaport has not been built. If Apapa could be built in Nigeria then why is it taking the FG eternity to sort out Ibaka? It is because of issues like this that we are saying we are being marginalised. |
| Re: What Is Delaying Ibaka Deep Seaport? by Nobody: 8:57am On Nov 24, 2015 |
Truth be told, a deep seaport cannot be left for a state government to construct, the FG has a major role to play here and one wonders why successive FGs have deliberately refused to build Ibaka seaport. |
