Pls go back to study the history of military coup in Nigeria. The first ever military coup in Nigeria was carried out by the Igbos in the military in 1966 which brought Aguyi Ironsi into power. General Aguiyi Ironsi was the first military man to rule Nigeria. It was the same Aguiyi Ironsi that destroyed the regional system of govt when he introduced the Unitary system of govt which we still practice till date
