In last match, Siasia ought to have known that the North African teams always thrive well than us when the tempo of the game is fast, and that was exactly what happened when we played Egypt. We should have slowed down the tempo of the game to frustrate their game plan as soon as we noticed.

I hope that they don't play fast game against Algeria. All we need to do is just calm down, Algeria needs the game more than we do.

yea you are right

in the days of Westerhof once we are up by a good magin

he brings in the "wicked" J.J. Okocha, he would so dribble and waste time on the ball
the frustrated opponents have no chioce but to commit fouls and take enough yellow cards.....

And this same Siasia was part of that team. What you said is exactly what should have been done. Delay tactics, after all we were leading by two goals.

thank you

he should have known better

we know him as a very attack minded coach

but each game must be played according to the rhythm
when you are up

the best is to seat back in defence and catch them on the counter

that way you secure what you have scored or even have the opponent creat loop holes for you to score more

ike Shorunmu thinks we can qualify:

Shorunmu, who was senior national team goalkeeper trainer after 36 caps for the Super Eagles, declared that despite the 2-2 draw with Egypt in their second group match on Wednesday, the team still has the potential to achieve a positive result against the North African side to book a semi-final ticket.

“Why not, I’ve no doubt in my mind that they will qualify. The worst result they will get against Algeria is draw and of course that will see them through to the next round,” Shorunmu, who played for Basel of Switzerland, Samsunspor and Besiktas both of Turkey, told Completesportsnigeria.com.

“It is true that they are shipping in goals more than comfortable, but of course, this happens sometimes in football.

“The most important thing is that they didn’t lose the games. So, with focus and concentration they will overcome Algeria.”

robosky02:
Nigeria football fans will be on the edge of their seats on Saturday, December 5, as they watch the Dream team struggle to qualify from their final Group B match against Algeria in the on-going U23 African Cup of Nation in Senegal.

The way Samson Siasia tutored boys gas-out of breath at the middle of their last two matches that saw the team narrowly edged out Mali, but again threw away 3 – 0 lead against Egypt that would have secured them the Semi-final ticket; cause most fans to worry.

What Algeria might do is to soak in the Dream team pressure for the first 30 minutes or so, then come out in full force, after the Nigerian side might have gas-out again.

Siasia must find a different way of approaching this final Group game to ensure Nigeria at least gets a draw to move on.

Algeria drew against Egypt 1 – 1 and beat Mali 2 – 0. So both Nigeria and Algeria only need a draw to qualify for the Semi Finals.

But one thing is certain; Egypt will come out smoking against Mali to ensure they win that one to stand a chance to qualify. Mali has been knocked out already, but may only be playing for pride against Egypt.

Remember, the first three teams in the tournament will automatically qualify for Rio Olympics games Men Soccer in 2016. There’s no negotiations, Nigeria must be there or…?

Nigeria vs Algeria line up
If egypt beat mali by more than one goal n Nig 23 draw with algeria, then the two north africans will qualify. All team will hv 5pts each, but a goal difference advantage over us. U23 need outright victory to stand a chance of qualifying
Re: Nigeria Vs Algeria: CAF U23 Championship ( 0 - 0) On 5th December 2015 by xest(m): 5:35pm On Dec 04, 2015
robosky02:
The U-23 Eagles will only need a draw of any kind in their final group game against Algeria to qualify for the semi-finals of the on-going CAF U-23 Nations Cup if Egypt expectedly beat Mali in their final group game, according to CAF rules governing qualification in case all three teams tie on points.

Article 68.2.3 of the competition makes the number of goals scored the deciding factor if the teams have the same goals difference.
"The greatest number of goals scored in the matches between the teams concerned will be used to decide the qualifiers," reads the article.

A win for Egypt will take them to five points, same as Nigeria and Algeria if their game ends in a draw.

If this scenario presents itself after the conclusion of the group games on Saturday, Nigeria will pick a semi-final ticket.
Algeria's chances of joining Nigeria will depend on the nature of the draw. If the game between Nigeria and Algeria ends from 3-3 upwards, then Algeria will

come second behind Nigeria but if the scoreline is 0-0 or 1-1, Algeria will be eliminated.

If the game ends in a 1-1 draw, then it presents another scenario as to who tops the group between Nigeria and Egypt as both will have the same number of
goals scored and same number of goals conceded.

cc:lalasticlala,honeric01
Hav u checked the scenario were egypt win by two goals? They will hv +2goals also Algeria too. Look at d stand nw
Algeria pl2 w1 d1 L0 gd2 pts4
Nigeria pl2 w1 d1 L0 gd1 pts4
Egypt pl2 w0 d2 L0 gd0 pts2
Mali pl2 w0 d0 L2 gd-3 pts0
Egypt to me will beat mali by more than one goal which is Enough to see dem tru. The real deal lies btw Nig vs Alg. Siasia n his boys need to score in d first half to hold on to the game cos,if egypt is leading at half time and Nigeria is playing a draw, the algiers may resort to delay tactics in other to see nigeria is eliminated. I wish the team good luck

I am not really interested in this U23 jareey, they don't have fire and metallic bones like the U17, I was always anxious to watch them play..

I think Algeria will whoop their ass tomorrow... they have been playing like controlled robots.

As in eh..... Their "love" don dey make headlines sef. *smiles*

Honestly, we have every reason to doubt this team based on their display so far but I think they can still do it. By that I mean qualify for the Olympics.

Like I've always said, this isn't our "real/main" Dream Team. The team in Senegal is pathetic and really depleted....... But I think they can do just enough to still clinch one of the tickets to Rio 2016.

Get the ticket then discard the "weak players" because the "main U-23 Super talents" led by Iheanacho, Success, Simon Moses, Yahaya, Alampasu, Imoh Ezekiel, Ndidi, and many other exciting super young talents @ U-23 level will be available for Rio 2016.

Too bad this U-23 Afcon isn't on the Fifa calender or even fifa-rated...... Hope future editions won't see us denied having our best players like this one and the 2011 edition.

Good evening Shizzy7...... *smiles*

huuu, Zooming off to study you no dey tire...

I don't know where the problem is maybe the coach or the players because they have been playing past games in a similar pattern. They dominate the first half, become confident in the second half and their opponent takes over.
They will work harder for tomorrow's game because they know that Algeria is not an easy nut to crack.

Good evening..
