TheGoodJoe:Oh, now I see where you're coming from. You underrate Aluko! No wonder! On his day, Aluko is a class act. Very good player! |

joseph1013: very funny. OK, let me say it this way, 'the dude was kept quiet because the coach underused him'. ![]() Whose fault was that? ![]() |

joseph1013:Which recount? You can not answer one question and you are saying recount. If you put Messi in a parked bus team, will he win World Best? Answer this question and you will know if I am recounting or not. You will not answer because you will run from the truth. If you put Messi in a parked bus team, will he win World Best? Answer this question and you will know if I am recounting or not. |

joseph1013:OK, let's say as an attacking midfielder. |

forgiveness:Do not worry, he will not answer. He will say, are you saying other players did not do well? |

TheGoodJoe:You know why it is difficult to understand? Because someone like me understands that Football is dynamic and I have the awareness that it is ignorant to assume that there is a one-cap-fits-all in this beautiful game. Let me ask: do you believe a Defender cannot be a Star man in a defensive setup since you're saying it's easy to see why Drogba and Lampard were stars of Mourinho's defensive formation? |

TheGoodJoe:I blame the defenders, the keeper and above all the coach. |

forgiveness:How? Is it cos attacking players cannot thrive in a defensive setup? |

TheGoodJoe:No, he'd not be the best in the world. But is that the same as saying that the attacking department he leads would be poor? |

TheGoodJoe:Why will I answer Yes or No, when I know better. Football in real life is not the same you play in PlayStation or FootballManager. Things change in a Live Environment. It could favor defence, it could favor attack. |

joseph1013:It is the same thing. That is why you refused to answer. The set up will stop the best player in the history of Club football from performing to his normal level. That is not performing better but poorly. |
| Re: Super Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: 2017 AFCON Qualifiers. by joseph1013: 4:56pm On Dec 04, 2015 |
TheGoodJoe:Good. I'm glad you realize how hilarious your assertion has been to me all along. |
| Re: Super Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: 2017 AFCON Qualifiers. by joseph1013: 4:57pm On Dec 04, 2015 |
TheGoodJoe:Normal is the same as Poor? |
| Re: Super Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: 2017 AFCON Qualifiers. by forgiveness: 5:02pm On Dec 04, 2015 |
joseph1013:I thought I have already answered your question on that. Attacking players can either strive or not depending on the team setup. In this case, I think the coach only came with a more rigid defensive formation than the usual defensive/counter attack formation and apart from that Aluko was just coming back from long injury. I think the coach should have allowed them play their usual 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 formation. |
| Re: Super Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: 2017 AFCON Qualifiers. by joseph1013: 5:06pm On Dec 04, 2015 |
forgiveness:It's good that you at least have the presence of mind not to support the ridiculous assertion that attacking players MUST play BADLY in a defensive formation. |
| Re: Super Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: 2017 AFCON Qualifiers. by TheGoodJoe(m): 5:08pm On Dec 04, 2015 |
joseph1013:Okay attacking players performances must drop. Have I solved your problem. |
| Re: Super Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: 2017 AFCON Qualifiers. by joseph1013: 5:12pm On Dec 04, 2015 |
TheGoodJoe:You now agree that a drop in performance is not always synonymous with a Poor performance? Say it! Make it loud and clear |
| Re: Super Eagles Of Nigeria Thread: 2017 AFCON Qualifiers. by TheGoodJoe(m): 5:16pm On Dec 04, 2015 |
joseph1013:Loud and Clear, the player will not play to his normal level. He would not perform the way he performs. Because performing poorly is not the same as drop in form. If Messi, goes from winning the Ballon D'or regularly to not winning it at all due to change in set up, he is not performing poorly to his standards but performing Normal. LOL. Give me a break. |

TheGoodJoe: I have had alot of fun today.Something in me just hates generalizations. It's like saying all Muslims MUST be Terrorists. Or all Yoruba girls MUST be dirty. Or all Igbo men MUST be involved in domestic abuse. It's very wrong! It irks! Thanks for a great laugh. |

Alex Iwobi Returns To Arsenal First Team Biyi Akangbe Alex Iwobi trained with the first team of Arsenal at London Colney on Friday ahead of the visit of Sunderland in the Premier League on Saturday. According to allnigeriasoccer.com the 19-year-old might make the bench tomorrow against the Black Cats, with Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere, Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla all sidelined through injury. Iwobi, who is naturally a winger, may slot into midfield if he is given a run - out at the Emirates and has played for the Arsenal U21s in that position in recent games. The Nigeria international made his Premier League debut for the Gunners in their 3 - 0 win over Swansea at the end of October but has not featured for the first team since then, though he made the bench against Spurs the following week. www.soccernet.com.ng/2015/12/alex-iwobi-returns-to-arsenal-first-team.html |

Why I don't score for Nigeria - Ighalo Biyi Akangbe https://www.tori.ng/userfiles/image/2015/dec/03/Odion-Jude-Ighalo.jpg Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, has said scoring for his English club Watford is easier than doing so for the national team due to the difference in terrains. Ighalo who scored his ninth goal of the season on Saturday in Watford’s 2-0 win over Norwich struggled to replicate same form when the Super Eagles defeated Swaziland in the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier last month. .Speaking in an exclusive interview with New Telegraph, the striker said that it was very difficult scoring for the Eagles due to demanding nature of the African game. “We cannot compare so many things in Europe with what we have in Africa,” he said. “If you talk about the pitches in Europe compared to Africa, you will see a huge difference, likewise the weather. “Another issue is the physicality of the game in Africa, but I am not complaining because as a striker, you have to be ready for any situation.” Ighalo has scored two goals for the Super Eagles since making his debut in a 2-0 win over Chad in AFCON qualifier on June 13 in Kaduna. Meanwhile, Ighalo has praised manager Quique Sanchez Flores’ game plan for the 2-0 victory over Norwich City on Saturday. With a long trip to Sunderland up next for the club, Ighalo form marked the improvement that Flores has been asking for. “The teamwork has been great, you see the way we have been pushing ourselves and the team really worked hard from the first until the last minute today Saturday. We can’t single out any player because from Heurelho to the top everybody really worked hard and we deserved the three points,” he told the club’s official website. “We are happy and we just want to forget about today now because it’s gone. We are thinking about the next game because we want to try and win games. We know we’re going to have some difficult times, but if we keep picking up points now we know we are going to be safe at the end of the season.” www.soccernet.com.ng/2015/12/why-i-dont-score-for-nigeria-ighalo.html |

Odion Ighalo makes Goal Premier League Team of the Week Imhons Erons The Watford forward has been named in Goal’s Best XI of MatchDay 15 of the English Premier League after another impressive display for the newly-promoted side. The Nigerian striker scored one, assisted the other and had another wrongly chalked off for offside has Watford condemned Norwich to a 2-0 defeat. Ighalo’s pace and power was too much for the visitors to handle has his constant torment of Norwich's defence paid off when he scored the game's second goal. The win lifts Watford to ninth on the league after amassing 22 points from a possible 45, a mere four points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspurs. In other matches, there were surprise losses for Manchester City at Stoke City, Liverpool at Newcastle and Chelsea at home to Bournemouth while Spurs and Manchester United could only managed draws away to West Brom and at home to WestHam United respectively. Leicester City returned to the summit of the EPL with a fine 0-3 win at Swansea, with Algerian forward Mahrez netting a hattrick. Arsenal kept up the pace with a sweet 3-1 win over Sunderland. Instead of the traditional big names, therefore, players from WestHam, Watford, Leicester, Stoke City and Bournemouth mostly populate the Premier League Team of Week 15. Others who made the weekend’s best XI include: Artur Boruc (Bournemouth) in goal; Eric Pieters (Stoke City), Britos (Watford), Reid (WestHam United), Glen Johnson (Stoke City) made up the defence; in midfield, Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey, Leicester City’s Kante, Stoke City’s Arnautovic, Arsenal’s Mesuit Ozil and Leicester’s Mahrez. Nigerian international and Watford striker Odion Ighalo was the only forward in the team. www.soccernet.com.ng/2015/12/odion-ighalo-makes-goal-premier-league.html |
