Hey Justwise, I was on a topic with this guy who was looking for a travel agent for Canada. I told him he didn't need a travel agent and I refer him to the Canadian immigration website. All of the sudden, the thread has disappeared. Did you delete or remove the topic by any chance?

Hi Twostep,

You should be able to download on any other device or a laptop. But if you've tried that and you're still unable to, you can pm me and I'll send you the files.

If its online route... You ll go with ur international passport, passport photograph and the medical form from ur mycic account. Paper route, you will print out ur certified international passport page, pp photograph, medical form... But call ur chosen hospital too

Good day my people.
Been a while.
I took my time to read and read on visa application update from previous parts.
I will love some people to quote me on my statistics, it may useful for all.
CANADA STUDY PERMIT SUCCESS RATE.
PHD 98 PERCENT SUCCESS RATE
MASTERS 95 PERCENT SUCCESS RATE
AGE 16 TO 24 ( DIPLOMA OR BSC) 98 PERCENT
PGD 70 PERCENT
I THINK PGD HAS LOWEST SUCCESS RATE.
REFERENCES FROM PREVIOUS UPDATE AND POSTS ON NAIRALAND.
I observe that the younger your age the better the chance for trv especially bsc or diploma.
Masters and Phd are not really affected by age, and the success rate has always been higher, even highest.
Most students are denied trv after making first semester tuition deposit, and i realize the highest refusal rate has always been diploma programs, especially pgd.
I will love the gurus in the house to explain on major reasons that causes trv delay on pgd apart from financial aspect.
Please share your opinion.
Thanks.

Yes I removed the topic because he is not genuinely looking for a way to do it himself rather he is looking for an agent to get him visa to work and live in Canada. Even as you gave him links he doesn't seem to be willing. That thread will only attract dubious visa agents.

No, it doesn't implicitly imply it has been refused. There's no stated time frame for a medical call after submission of application. 4 weeks, 3 weeks time frame can be termed conjectures. Each application is treated personal and subject to unique time frame (mostly). There are applicants who get medical calls within 3 weeks while some get after more than 6 weeks. And some applicants even get biometric mails after more than 2 weeks.
You're still within the usual time frame. So, cheer up.

I will focus my attention on the bolded items above but before I do, I would like to opine that any application irrespective of situation can fly if it's well-packaged (SOP plays a strong role here) and has minimal loopholes (I stand to be corrected).
Concerning your observation;
1. If you're beyond a certain age (let's assume 25 above in this context) it's assumed you should have gotten a first degree/bsc/ or diploma. Applying for such a degree at such an age without credible explanation automatically raises a red flag and this is why I think many such applications are denied.
2. Those programs (especially pgd) are relatively easy to obtain admission into as the colleges/institutions need students as much as universities etc. who get the bulk of attention from students. The ease at which they give admissions compared to others might be responsible for what seems like a 'fixated' scrutiny on pgd applicants.
3. Paying tuition fees is a transaction that carries little or no weight (except in certain circumstances where you have a conditional admission/deadline to pay or you've been denied on insufficient funds in a previous application) during visa processing and this has been discussed repeatedly on this thread.

These are strictly my personal views and I stand to be corrected.

@justwise @Disguy

I am overwhelmed with the pages/threads on this topic and I honestly don't know where to start.

As a backup to our EE application, my wife and I are mulling the thought of her going for a Phd programme in Canada to aid our relocation to the country.

Kindly direct me to the pages/threads that will address my situation. Thank you

Oga justwise, well done on the thread.

By the way, this place cold oo...and I am not talking of my Ikeja freezer (I hope you remember when I cracked this joke in one of the past threads grin).

May God grant the heart desires of TRV hopefuls here in Jesus name.

THANKS FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION, ON THIS SAME THREAD I HAVE READ ABOUT SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT GOT TRV WITHOUT SOP, ISSUE OF PACKAGING OR DOCUMENT SUBMITTED TAKES MAJOR ROLE AS YOU HAVE EXPLAINED, BUT I HAVE ALSO SEEN SEVERAL SUCCESSFUL TRV APPLICANTS SUBMITTING ONLY STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT, LETTER OF SPONSORSHIP, ADMISSION LETTER WITH CIC FORMS AND GOT TRV AS WELL.
YOUR COMMENTS ON 2 AND 3 ARE FACT WITH I HAVE NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT.
THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.
