SERAP should read carefully her statement from her media aid earlier. She did acknowledge it was for development but there can be no development when war is ongoing. Arms for the Nigerian Army is imprtant if they needed arms to win the war then why not provide the money to end the war and development the north. Or perhaps she would have preferred Julius Berger to go the Yobe or Borno to build roads and bridges with the war ongoing and our soldiers to be going to fight with their bare hands. The problem is from all indication the person who received the money for weapons did not use it all for weapons instead a campaign in going on to smear the former ministers name. I work in a bank I pay a customer and he uses the money for a crime. The way forward is to harrass me or have the customer arrested? Seems some people want to waste 4 years or gain cheap popularity by blaming and witch hunting. Okay lets see . |

OnankpaBa:with respect to death, diezani already got a plateful...except its all a act, she can't last 10yrs...but she shld release our funds... That havard frog eyed fat fucck resents me like mad. She is so corrupt and incompetent. For all her yrs under Jonathan, she has refused to speak the truth...and her policies (even despite her overhyped havard degree), are not favourable to anyone but the officials. How can u sit down as the head of an economic team and earmarked on 13% out of trillions for 150mills heads and expect development? |

People should stop being sentimental .We all agree you need security. That is not the issue. The issue is were the funds released in keeping with THE LAW and constitution. Was there an appropriation by the National Assembly? Not ONE KOBO can be spent without recourse to budgeting. We know that government approached the National Assembly for a supplementary budget for arms and authority to borrow so why did they not do so on this occasion. There is no escaping what seems apparent that money was spent without recourse to the assent of the National Assembly and that would be unconstitutional |

MizMyColi:Whose responsibility was it to ensure due diligence on use of the recovered funds? It's simply not acceptable to shift blame She knew what she did was wrong hence her directive to GEJ to ensure accountability isn't compromised by the office of the NSA |

DONSMITH123:. Apologize? You don't know the spirit controlling this woman and GEJ. Instead of an apology, she will announce that she has been given another international award. The evil spirit of deception and delusion is the worst. |

blackboy:why didn't she say that when serap initially asked how abacha's loot was spent ..She didnt even mention that more 30% of the stolen money was spent on security .. She just said they used it on infrastructure that we didn't see .. If this dasuki case didnt come to light, we probably wouldnt have known about that now ...that's what serap is saying ... |

omonnakoda:. God bless you. Only idiots are commending and defending the criminal act of this woman. She and GEJ misappropriated funds, because they never expected the APC to defeat PDP and if GEJ had won his second term bid, they would have escaped without query. |

blackboy:NOI lied period, stop coloring her statement for her, you are implicating her further, NOI also has a phd for lying which is becoming more glaring to all. The same woman who told us Nigeria was not not broke before march 28 but turn around after then to tell us that we would have a difficult year when FG and states could not pay salaries. |

DONSMITH123:Very terrible set of jobless individuals. She specifically said that the first tranche of recovered loot was in 2005/2006 and was monitored by the World Bank. She also explained that there were funds being expected - $322m and $700m - for which the $322 had been returned and $700 was expected. She also said that the funds will be treated as "borrowed funds" or spilt "50/50" between security and development needs. Can't we just say it as it is? Can't we just say that this is white and this is black? Why distort reports for cynical purposes? At the end, the entire effort which is to ensure transparency and improve our lives will just be defeated. By the time the trial of Dokpesi starts, we'll see how south the case will go. |

DONSMITH123:This is Stuuuuupid. At the height of the boko haram manace , this same id.iots were crying that Jonathan was not doing enough to fight boko haram. Now that it has been shown that Jonathan was genuinely committed to fighting boko haram manace in the North, why are the people that were given the money to fight boko haram not being held responsible ? Why are these cowardly idi.ots picking on the former minister of finance? Is it because she is a woman and and a south Easterner? Security comes first before anything else in governance. That fact is obvious to many Nigerians who have been victims of boko haram. How the money was spent is what we should all focus on, not who approved it. |
| Re: Abacha Loot: Arms Are Not Roads, Electricity, Health, SERAP Tells Okonjo-iweala by MizMyColi(f): 3:34pm On Dec 10, 2015 |
jaybee3:No, she didn't. She gave her reasons based on 1. The peculiar nature of inteligence and security. 2. The NSA’s office was to account for the spending to the President who was the Commander in Chief, given the fact that the Minister of Finance is not part of the security architecture and does not participate in the Security Council. Even in everyday life, sometimes, certain amounts are entrusted in our care for errands which the sender isn't too sure of the nitty gritties. They ususally do so with a strict reminder in the lines of "When You come Back, You Must Account For This Money O"... If she didn't talk about accountability at all, that would have been a different ball game. Again, I insist that Dasuki and co, should be the ones giving the accounts (if they haven't done so already). |

They al know they have broken the law and are now trying to hide under GEJ. Clearly their strategy is "If I am going down I will name GEJ and try to embarrass the government by hinging their defence on asking GEJ to testify in court at their trial hoping the government would back off. Well Buhari should call their bluff and prosecute them anyway. It is important to establish that precedent so no one can break the law and hide under the president. |

I guess such money should be banked or kept safely while innocent Nigerians are killed up north by the beast born out of a certain religion. She didn't deny releasing the money, did she? Or is security not an important issue? You hollow headed lots should be asking what happened to the fund after it was released. Stop draging the woman down because you guys are already down. Even the educated once just talk like they have never seen the four walls of a school. I pity Nigeria and those so called leaders we have today. Mtchewwwww. |

You are so on point. Its as if these politicians have done something to us most Nigerians cannot reason well again. She only released the money based on the approval from the C-in-C. Please how is that a crime? Have Dasuki come out to say she was given part of the money as kick back? A beg give the woman a break. |
