Nobleking2000:Calling Seun names wouldn't promote your course. I think our brothers from the east need a platform like nairaland to promote their idea because her membership cut across different ethnic groups. The problem here is that rather than promote your course, most people here only sow seeds of hatred which is impacting on their real life relationship with other ethnic groups. Even if Seun is wrong, their are better ways of arguing your case. Tagging him a tribalist is to me unfortunate. I believe what Seun did by banning further discussion on biafra is absolutely right. the ban is an holistic one, entailing both pro and anti biafra agitators. Nairaland as a platform has its on mission and vision. If Seun would not allow his platform to promote secession, I think their are so many other platforms like d media (print & broadcast) and other online fora. IF CHANNELS TV CHOOSE NOT TO BROADCAST ANY ISLAMIC PROGRAMME, WILL MUSLIMS GO AND SHUT IT DOWN? 9 Likes 1 Share |

sukkot: "...reading between the lines"? Don't even go there. If you have to, then I will tell you that his post is a mere preparation for a possible anti social media law and the possible negative effects on his "business". He just lacks the right choice of language to protect his interest. I am sure he will re-phrase this soon or later. Take it or leave it. |

I support Seun 100%. Seun is a business man and has the right to protect the integrity of his business. Biafrans have taken over nairaland with anti government and anti Nigerian sentiments. They insult everybody and anybody who does not share their ideas. They follow the footsteps of their director, who think that agitating for Biafra means both verbal and physical war and threats of all other Nigerians. They have really degraded the value of Nairaland. Most respectable organizations would not advertise on Nairaland. Biafrans should take their Biafran agitations to Igbo owned fora and social media like Linda Ikeji. Let Seun return Nairaland back to its glory days. 12 Likes |

Seun: Am proudly Igbo and I support this move 100%.. Enough of the biafra nonsense by persons who do not even know they stand to benefit should the socalled biafra come to be. Although, this is coming rather late, but it is better late than too late. Well done Seun. 2 Likes |

Restricting site access to certain visitors is the norm in cyberspace. Many sites restrict visitors from Nigeria and many other countries, it has nothing to do with free speech. Seun can decide to restrict or ban Biafrans, or even Ghanians and Jamaicans, that is his prerogative. Nairaland is not the only forum in Nigeria. 1 Like |

Gboskee: How do the 2 events correlate? One is an act of terrorism. Scotland is trying to break off from the UK, has Facebook enacted a law prohiting people from using Facebook to advance their course? Or have Facebook banned people agitating for the breakaway? |
