MEND, Asari Dokubo has asked the Buhari led
government to hands off the state
governorship election or risk the whole country
going up in flames.
In a statement he released today December
7th, Asari accused the Federal government of
trying to rig the state governorship election to
install APC governorship candidate Timpreye
Sylva, an action he described as against the
will of the people. He stated that any action in
this direction will lead to a crisis that will
make Boko Haram be described as a child's
play.
"If by next week the Federal Government
does not hands off from the Bayelsa
polls by allowing the people to freely
choose their leader but still interfering
through the observed various guises and
deception, then we would have no option
than to return to the creeks to press for
our rights as patriotic citizens being
unduly oppressed and dehumanized all
in the name of politics. We have said it
before that President Buhari is executing
an anti-Ijaw agenda and his aim is to
steal our God-given resources to rebuild
the north destroyed by Boko Haram.
That is why he is hell-bent on
manipulating the electoral process in
Bayelsa State and hand it over to the
APC. They are exploiting Sylva’s greed
and desperation for power and therefore
using him to carry out their evil agenda.
But we want them to know that this
country will go up in flames if they try it.
Boko Haram will be a child’s play if
President Buhari and his APC think they
can upturn the people’s mandate. It
would be a grave injustice which can
never stand. We are Ijaw people and we
have never been conquered”.
Aari stated that results collated and
announced so far by INEC have shown that
the incumbent governor and PDP’s candidate,
Governor Seriake Dickson, had won 6 of the 7
local governments with a margin of 33,154
votes and has thus fulfilled constitutional
requirement of 2/3 spread and popular votes.
INEC had earlier this week canceled the
election in Southern Ijaw local government
area and declared the governorship election
inconclusive.

E go shock you how e go spread like wild fire when e start...all Jonathan should have done to Wetin election wss to sack jega when there was speculations and put someone else... He didn't.

Now APC being in charge cannot conduct a free and fair election in the smallest(i think) state in nigeria. Shame.

Remember Asari is not from Bayelsa but from Rivers, Tompolo from Delta is also interested in this election...it means Ijaw ppl and by extension SE/SS has rejected APC.

I say YES to Free and Fair election but NO to do or die politics. Jonathan did the right thing and that's the reason he's been receiving awards. Even though I'm a PDP supporter, I won't support anybody threatening or giving warning to the president of my country.

But seriously must the Buhari-led APC win all elections in Nigerian? Can't he just allow free and fair elections to be conducted??

Na today? He has been brandishing warning and did nothing aftermath. This same threatened happened during the presidential election that if GEJ was not given the mandate has expected the country will go up in flames and 7month after the swearing in of Buhari nothing happened. Though I will still prefare that the candidate that was voted for should be swear in as the governor.

One thing I like about Naija Delta militants is that they are not blood suckers like Dauradulladinhoo's Bokoharam.

If Bubu try anything silly with Bayelsa State, I trust the boys to go back to the creeks, resume pipeline vandalism, blow up oil facilities which will cripple the economy then we will see how they can pay their 5000 naira scam to unemployed.

APC should forget about Bayelsa and Rivers State or any other state in the South south and be contented with their Edo State.

I'm a Biafra and we stand hand in hand with our brothers in SS to say any attempted attempt at manipulating the peoples mandate will be brutally resisted. So they had better tow the part of honor. I have never seen this type of election before haba.

Asari should know by now that nobody dares Buhari. There's only one President and he doesn't sublet his presidency.

Lol..... Asari Dokubo has taken his threat to from entire Nigeria to Bayelsa state. U all remembered how Asari was threatening day and night what he will do if GEJ was not re elected for d second time. Many months gone Asari is yet to shoot an ordinary knockout. I thought by now the separatist protest of the Igbos would have been a child's play compared to what Asari would have done.

I think APC as party needs change more than Nigeria (bcs of their greed for power and one party system) or else they'll soon sink this great country except they change !!!!

And i want to thank our tourist president Buhari that he's truly living up to his pre-election billings of being a dictator, witch-hunter etc.
It's very clear that the man is on a revenge mission even if it will cost Nigeria her nationhood.

The guy's threat is coming simply because he knows EFCC will pick him up soon. EFCC just invited tompolo.
