I am ashamed of those calling for the extermination of the sect. From what i gather these are not terrorists. They are more like a religious militia, just as opc is in yorubaland. If soldiers are not firing on opc without provocation, why are they firing on these ppl. They have even gone to the media to deny attacking the army, unlike book haram. I will always support shittes wherever I see them just for the simple fact that they are sworn enemies of extremist sunni terrorists like ISIL and book had. In Iraq they are pushing away isil. In Nigeria book haram continues to attack them. These ppl stand boldly against book haram when our soldier run away and yet we want to kill them

My guy, that's the part that scares me too. Some of these Islamic groups are well-armed. Maybe they do need to protect themselves but the fact that they possess assault weapons in the first place tells me that something is SERIOUSLY WRONG!

Some months ago, the army stormed a Mosque in Okene, Kogi State, leading to a gunfight that left seven people dead. The army would go on to discover hidden arms within the Mosque.

There is so much proliferation of weapons in Nigeria in the hands of different groups. All is not well, truly.

You ppl need to understand that Islam is as much a political ideology as it is a religious one so Islamic sects are usually very political unlike Christiana who just worship god and nothing else. The shites are a minority and are constantly being killed by the Sunnis who are dominant, hence the need to form a strong political group to protect themselves. Why is there great and overly pronounced discrepancy between the various countries that practice Islam? Are we really sure Prophet Mohammed is real? There seems to be as many doctrine of Islam as the numbers of towns where Islam is being practiced. The moslem in Osun state is different from Edo State. The irag muslim is not the same with Kenya and so also is their believe.

Funny, warned of this a few years ago that part of the strategy for unraveling Nigeria would be the attempt to ignite sectarian war along the lines of Lebanon in the seventies. They say if the village dwarf suddenly challenges the Dinmpka or big warrior of all the district it is not on empty breeze.The Shite leader wouldn't challenge the Nigeria military without Iran or outside forces encouragement. Sure, they arnt going to be so overt about it, they're going to give the impression that there is a covert pogrom by the Nigerian state with its Sunni sympathies or something.

In any case, Nigeria leadership are continually caught on the back foot. They seem to lack the ability to extrapolate future events informed by present ones. For instance Gambia declaring itself an Islamic state, what could this mean for Nigeria and the West African region in a decade or two?

There is a solution for Nigeria if we're unable to predict the future in a continent almost totally at the mercy of the outside world. The solution is to For-ARM the military to the hilt. We are going to need it.
