As much as I respect El-rufai for his firmness to issues and believe system, I think he err on this recent policy of musical jamboree. The north as a whole should be in sober reflection by now and as a matter of fact I don't think is ideal gathering so much crowd for now due to the security threats all over the country most especially state like Kaduna (Boko Haram annex office). Nothing is wrong with carnival or musical Fiesta but there must be a condition precedents which in this case alot is lacking.

It's pure and simple looting of public fund while giving it a name. The festival has no benefit to Kaduna state and it people. Over 300million naira fa? Haba n they wanna take gate fee again

bringing star artist to a state encourages the youth against social vices

Using the refusal of the Governor to sponsor Muslims to Mecca as an excuse not to have a State End of year Carnival is Ludacris.



Saudi Arabia makes billions of Dollars yearly from these pilgrimages that are sponsored by the Government.

The Pilgrimage isn't fair to all as not 'ALL' muslims get to participate in the Pilgrimage, only those who can lobby the powers that be ever get to go. A State Fair/carnival gives equal access to everyone. Attracts Tourists and by default brings money into the State. Trade and Commerce will boom as both petty traders who deal in small items ranging from pure water to souvenirs will all make money. Hotel and Tourism will also boom.


But on the down side; The state of Insecurity in the North at this time is not encouraging at all and may have a great adverse effect on the carnival. Turn out will be low and even those who show up are literally sitting ducks for a Booko Haram Suicide bomber.



HOWEVER: Mr. Sani should understand that Nigeria is a circular state.

Does the PDP budget have anything as music harvest? Please don't deviate from the trend

How much tax can be generated for a one day event? Is the tax equal to the amount airmarked for the event? Can one day tax generate 300million naira?

Get back at me with your question when you are able to figure or determine how many tickets were sold, how many vendors were licensed to do business at the event, how many folks and artists from out of state and even instate lodged in hotels...

If that money is use to fix road won't it generate more income n economic welfare to the state? Let be patriotic citizens and shun party affiliation on issues that deal with our lives. The elections are over its time to build a better nigeria. Encourage when it's right and please criticise when it's wrong like this is.

Patriotic citizens supports efforts staged to unite and bring citizens together, effort staged to generate funds to take care of the same things you are crying about, efforts staged to boost the economy and put money in the same citizens pockets and so on and on...

Do a little research and secure the necessary facts before criticizing or spewing ignorance.

Now the festival has come and gone please tell us how it benefited the people of Kaduna?
