I suspect that the only functional difference is reduced storage; production would be increased with more frequent feeding. Just guessing though.

Big breast doesn't translate into more milk production and small one doesn't necessarily mean it will produce less milk. The underlying factor really is frequency of breast feeding and the baby's suckling habit.

BTW, I suggest the op has a small boob. grin

U dnt expect 2litres container to accommodate a 5 litre liquid... It's will be over full grin

I am more concerned right now i have moderate boobs but am pregnant and i have little nipples so tiny like i am still a teenager and i'm worried would i be able to breast feed my baby would there be a passage for the breast milk to come out because i have abnormal small nipples and i am worried cry

Breast has glandular part and fatty part. The glandular part is the real breast tissue which makes and stores milk, while the fatty part gives the breast it's shape and size. So if a lady has bigger breast it means she has more fatty tissue in her breast.

Men and pre-pubertal females have the fatty part but not the glandular part. And men never develop the glandular part unless in certain diseases.

Once breast develops the glandular part it can make milk as much as every other breast irrespective of the size of the breast or the size of the fatty part. So both big breast and small breast make the same quantity of milk.

What determines how much milk a woman makes is a complex interaction of hormones, emotional state, genetic make up etc and not the size of breast.

People with diff 'wahalas'... my friend that just gave birth has big n!pple$ and her mum advised her to be holding the n!pple$ together(kinda pressing together to make smaller) while breastfeeding to avoid her baby getting a big mouth. .

My dear, I don't think nipple size matters oo.. as long as your body produces milk, it must see a passage. .

my sis,don't worry yourself atall,by the time pregnancy deals with your boobs,they'll obey.this is 3 mths I gave birth,I was so worried that breastfeeding with my inverted tips would be difficult.
as at now It stands out gloriously and i'm going back to the gynaecologist to complain abt excess milk production.small tips are the best as ur newborn can latch properly with their small mouth.
