Neymar begins running & ball work with one eye on hypothetical Club World Cup final

The Brazilian was back out on the training pitch on Wednesday as Barça began to prepare for Thursday's semi-final, however Neymar is instead working towards being fit for a potential final on Sunday


FC Barcelona trained at the Nissan Stadium on Wednesday ahead of Thursday’s Club World Cup semi-final against Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande, who beat Mexican side America in the last round.

The main news was that Neymar was on the pitch continuing with his recovery from a groin strain. He did some running with Juanjo Brau and was also able to do a little bit of work with the ball.

Judging by the intensity and the rhythm, everything indicates that Neymar would be available for a hypothetical final on Sunday, although it’s hard to decipher whether he would be available to start or to take a place on the bench.

The rest of the squad trained as normal, although only the first part of the session was open to the media - as is standard.

Neymar’s fitness has been one of the main talking points at the Club World Cup so far and, for that reason, Luis Enrique was asked a lot questions about the 23-year-old in his press conference before training.

Although he didn’t reveal too much, the Barça boss made it clear that he will not take any risks - Neymar will only play if he is in the right condition to play.

Logica is this thesame Sammer or there is another one cause the one am seeing here is being hailed for his heroics in Central defence.

Sammer was a Defensive Midfielder who converted into a Libero (which to some is a Central Defender, to others a Withdrawn Defensive Midfielder). If you are just hearing about Sammer, then I can guess where you are coming from.

Anybody who knew Sammer well knew him before he played Libero and will remember his as a Defensive Midfielder right from even when he played in the 1987 U20; and his pattern of play never changed.

Apparently you are dyslexic and didn't see me refer to him as a Defensive Midfielder converted to a Libero in at least one post before you decided to show your "knowledge". I'm glad though, that you know how to use Google. So keep studying Sammer and come back to further educate me.

You stil have not answered sir! We are all fans and we have at one point or the other suggested names here even though we all know we can't fly to Barcelona to present our cases. When the issue of Pogba was rife, many suggested Verrati, coutinho, gundogan etc. When we were bashing Alves then, many came up with names for his replacement, same for Valdes and every other player that have been criticised at one point or the other.
You claimed Busi is below average, and you are to at least suggest one or two names that you think will perform better and slot in seamlessly into the team, not that you or any of us has the power to fly to Barca, you mentioned Sammer, Veron and co who are no longer playing. Even your partner suggested Coq with some few names that he feels are better. So, why can't you also suggest one and lets see if he can fare better than Busi.

I saw obviously you mentioned him as one converted but the way you hyped the man, it was as if he fared well in the DM throughout his time. Apparently, one that was converted and made a name for himself isn't what that you made him look like. Compare, Busque has been all round in the DM for ages and doesn't mostly have eye for goal like Sammer. Idealy, Sammer might have rendered the attacking Midfielders jobless in team.

Truth is there isn't any better DM than Busquests today, especially for Barca and the spanish national team. They claim he's a tag along enjoying the benefits of world class players around him but it's not a coincedence that Spain won her first world cup with him in the squad playing every single second and an integral member of the Barca squad that have won the treble twice.
