Montaque:Every state and region has its stereotype. Bendel may have been the composition of Benin+Delta, it still does not take away the fact that they were targets of the Eastern region then. This, I found on wikipedia; During the Nigerian Civil War, the Biafran forces invaded the new Mid-Western state, en route to Lagos, in an attempt to force a quick end to the war. While under Biafran occupation, the state was declared the "Republic of Benin". As Nigerian forces retook the region, the republic collapsed only a day after the declaration when Nigerian troops captured Benin City. Why Ogbemudia has come out to narrate his ordeal at this point in time is what I don't understand ![]() |

Now Ogbemudia is claiming superman! Last time it was adekunle who narrated how he beat back the biafrans along Benin-Ore road, now Ogbemudia says he beat them back inside benin. I didn't hear him call adekunle or even the other dude that was shot in the buttocks while running away! ![]() |

Lordave:it was a defensive fight until you dropped bombs in agege lagos, invaded midwest and tried to move into lagos, which all aren't biafran territory. Is that still being defensive? Attrocities were commuted along the way |

Maybe he is writing a book too. So he wants to prep the grounds first by telling the world how his sister prostituted herself to gain him access to restricted areas. Sanchez01: |

bloodyBLOGGER:"you dropped bombs in agege lagos, invaded midwest and tried to move into lagos," You're confused! How did Biafrans drop bomb in Agege Lagos and also tried to move into Lagos? There are some hidden truths about this civil war, if Biafrans dropped bomb in Agege without invading Lagos, which fighter jet did they use in dropping the bomb? Biafrans probably built that fighter jet also. |

Sanchez01:Apart from stereotype, a town is named by what it does. The moral sense once u cross the Niger bridge is different. That's what I meant to say. It's stereotype anyway. |

palladin:If they did not attack the midwest in their advance towards lagos, would they have been fought in the midwest. They sound like lying Palestinians to me. Just being sore losers. In a war they were bent on fighting, what would they have done to the other side? Give them gifts and handouts? Of course they would have massacred the other side if they could. You were massacred. In war, that is called losing. The same thing you wanted to happen to the other side. |

abe4kom:How can he tell narrate their own story for them? Benin-Ore road and inside Benin, aren't they two different places? Even if they were the same place, the man did not say he beat them back. He is simply narrating his role in the Nigerian army's beating back of the Biafran army in that region. |

Chanchit:Insult the Igbos the way you like but this storyteller, though with intention to smear the Biafrans of 1967, has inadvertently contradicted the fake stories you chaps have been circulating all around the media that Igbo soldiers invaded the Mid West and r@ped women and killed innocent civilians. From this story you can ascertain this fact about the character of Igbomen even the hardest one alive; - They have respect for respect for women. Have you ever asked yourself what would have happened to the innocent woman if she encountered a Nigerian soldier of the Yoruba or Hausa extraction? It would have been worse for her than the plight of the defenseless Igbo women violated by the Nigerian troops. At least, the Igbo general was diplomatic enough to make negotiations for her womanhood, you never can tell if it would have led to marriage. And to think that the girl came in the guise of a Sister and aligned with the opposition when she got what she wanted also speak volume of the traits of some group of people I won't be mentioning. The Igbo man saw her as a sister but the lady had bad intentions. And the story said 35 Biafra soldiers were killed when having their press conference not face to face in battle. So you can see how the anti-Igbos have been implicated and Igbos vindicated. |
