I have been lucky in my life. I have had the opportunity to travel far and wide both in Nigeria as well as around the world. All of this on the dime of someone else. Every job i've ever had always seems to end up with me travelling as part of my responsibilities. Now, my current organization asked me to finish a project in Germany which took five years to complete and in all those years i did not see one accident. Minor or Major. Not even bumper to bumper. Why is that? Let me give you a little background. To get your driver's license will cost you 1,500 Euro or more. To pass a drivers test will almost feel like you are taking a bar exam. You can drive as fast as you want on the autobahn. 200 km or more if you can handle it and people still don't get in accidents. Why is that? If you drink an ounce of alcohol, or even taste it, and you are stopped and tested by the politzei, say goodbye to your license. They understand that driving is not a right but a privilege which can be taken away at any time. Nigerians think it is their right to operate a vehicle. In Germany everyone is on the same page because they all went to the same drivers class and they know what the standard is. So, when you stop at a four way, you already know what the other driver is going to do. No guess work. It is also mandated that you do periodic vehicle inspections to determine your vehicle's road worthiness so issues of breakdowns are at a minimum. In Nigeria it is free for all. I started driving in Nigeria when i was 12 years. I did because i could. Who's to stop me? I shudder at thought now. I could have killed someone. There is no standard, no law, no guidelines. Everyone just does whatever the phuck they want to do. Na really wah for una.

Pls mind the type of bus you enter to travel this yuletide season. Some of these bus have not been serviced for like 8months or so, and because of this celebration period, they don't care , all that matters to them is their money. Pls be careful.

There should be bumps on that highway... the fact that it's a highway doesn't mean they shouldn't control speed. I was posted to a school close to that highway near okada junction and you won't believe there's no bump at that junction at all... There's a very high risk of cars colliding.

i can't stop thanking God that spared my Corper friend from the accident... he has been in the hospital at Benin since yesterday...I pray for quick recovery bro and may God continue to protect us all.
