APC explains why Bello was picked as party’s candidate in Kogi Abuja - The All Progressives Congress (APC) has explained why it decided to pick Yahaya Bello to replace late Abubakar Audu in the Kogi State governorship election, reports Leadership. The party said it decided to settle for Bello in order to avoid legal pitfalls. Speaking during a reconciliatory meeting with aggrieved APC groups from Kogi East district on Thursday in Abuja, Chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun explained that the decision to pick Bello (now governor-elect) to contest the supplementary election was the best way out of the political jam. He assured the Audu political family that they will play important roles in the political arrangements in the state. The aggrieved members were led to the meeting by the Kogi state APC Chairman, Haddy Amefuo, as well as some Kogi East political leaders.
