There s something we call anterior fontanelle. in new borns, it shld b open(patent), and this makes room for d development of d brain. In fact, if its closed at birth, its a very big problem. It closes on its on btwn age 9-18months. It doesn't require all wot pple do to it, eg rubbing nzu etc.

Its normal. There is one at the front and one at the back. The one at the back closes up quickly. The front one closes up latest by the 18th month. If it doesnt then, there may be cause for concern.

I know a 36year old that still has dt stuff going tap..tap..tap..She shows no negative signs o.

@ahnie, like tchiwinnie said, a patent fontanelle is normal development for all babies. However, i noticed some are more depressed than others.

Pls Mamas, make una make this place interesting, I missed my team October days. I so so missed it. This thread made my pregnancy so memorable and funfilled. It feels like I remember each day from morning sickness till October 1st (how I hoped for independent day baby down to delivery. Everything is still so fresh in my head.

D 1st scan shld be @ 6weeks to check the baby heartbeat.

Good morning mamas, i so love the spirit in here... the baby talks,scans , edd,the vigilantee groups, the morning sickness thing etc... i wish i have ported to this thread already. In all honesty i jealous you all.... Well, my solace is that come Jan or Feb i will be #teamSep or Oct.... and join in every discussion here too in Jesus name. From 20 weeks you can detect the sex of your baby.
At 38weeks you can see the most likely condition your LO will be on arrival.
There is also this scan Nurse Kaffy4bill talked about o....that detects any abnormality in the foetus...what is it called again o. Its more expensive than the regular scan ( like #20k where I asked o)
