No fuel still, no power, bad roads, unemployment getting higher everyday, hunger is rising and insecurity is the order of the day. Buhari should know we are still Nigerians and we will always continue to be impatient as we were during GEJ regime. Change indeed. Shior

cool speech......but I would have been happier if he had tried to charge the Senate on the way they spend.... billions of naira are to be spent on purchasing cars and no body is saying anything. that is day light robbery.

That part is beyond buhari's executive power.

It is we the people who would force the senate to reduce their spending

Yes now I believe we still have intelligent brains in Nigeria.
Only the very wise will understand your post. Once again thank you.you just made me a very happy man today.

Actually when evaluated with depth and not just emotional desire for independent growth, Nigeria is not ready for true federalism, We have spent too long using this federal charter to just change overnight.

It is a progressive effort that would start with the building of strong infrastructure and judicial processes and the remodelling of our constitution, otherwise what would ensue is an abuse of power at the lower state and LG levels.

I'm pretty sure GEJ didn't carry out 1/10 his campaign promises. Besides, this newspaper article is dated 2011 while he was in CPC.
Stop fighting the one man who's trying to build a better nation

He obviously didn't read it. Implementation is key as well as regular audit, monitoring and evaluation.

ASSUMING that what you typed there is not FALSE, would that not be why you voted Jonathan out?
If that is the case, in 2019, will you also vote out Buhari for not fulfilling ANY of his campaign promises?
Will you

As a concerned Nigerian, I can say I appreciate the budget.

My major concern is the huge deficit. Nigeria's current external debt profile is N1.4 trillion, accumulated in 10 years. In only 2016, we would be adding another N0.9 trillion.

Additionally, we would be using 20% of the budget to settle the interests on debt, which will surely increase next year.

In any case, I stand solidly behind PMB to ensure that there is proper implementation of the budget. A proper implementation will justify the increasing debt profile.

There are many things to love about the budget, I only hope we will start seeing the dividends by the third quarter of the year.

God bless Nigeria!

There is nothing difficult about it. There is tension already in the land and all tribes .every region already desires to have a national conference on how this nation is to be structured but the only thing keeping this nation together is the oil and the money .believe me ,the day Nigeria oil becomes useless it wont take 6 months before the whole structure crumbles .

Buhari has NO moral authority needed to charge any SINator or representaTHIEF to be prudent in spending OUR money.
Why?
He is just as bad a looter as the rest of them. He simply knows how to PRETEND to the general citizens.
The power brokers in the senate & HoR know and will expose him if he dares overstep.
Go and read the story of Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini of FIFA, to understand better why Buhari can do NOTHING beyond empty noise and sound bites.

PhockPhockMan:
But Buhari, in the document titled, ‘I pledge to Nigeria’ had also said that all his political appointees would only earn salaries and allowances as prescribed by the Revenue and Mobilisation and Fiscal Allocation Commission.

He said, “I pledge to publicly declare my assets and liabilities, encourage all my appointees publicly declare their assets and liabilities as a pre-condition for appointment. All political appointees will only earn the salaries and allowances determined by the RMFAC. I pledge, as Commander-in-Chief, to lead from the front and not behind in the comfort and security of Aso Rock, to boost the morale of fighting forces and the generality of all Nigerians.”

This budget is just huff huff high on rhetoric and little on substance. To the discerning minds we are just dancing in circle, this budget is lacking in specifics and doesn't inspire confidence aside the emotions of his followers! We in for a long ride!

Good speech! Ride on Mr. President. We're right with you.

But you see, you can't do it alone. When your party were busy sabotaging the efforts of the previous Govt, You were happy trading Liea to the populace. You even boycotted NEC meetings for selfish reasons. Now you want the support of others. We will support you but be rest assured that The Moral Burden preached at the Senate will catch up with you all in due course.
I BELIEVE IN GOD! I BELIEVE IN LEADERSHIP!
CARRY ON! MR. PRESIDENT. We Love You.

Don't blame him. He's probably one of those pained about the monthly #5000.

Some people still call it witch hunting i call it thieves sniffing cheesy

There you have it folks! Revenues from oil is just a fraction (less than 14%) of our budget for 2016.
Those who always shout our oyel, our oyel, please understand that there is more to Nigeria, and indeed life, than oyel. May God bless your thinking.

Let's support this government to deliver the goods for the benefit of all. I don tolk my own o.

That's like the simplest thing or answer an average high school student is expected to give. In all 6 years GEJ their hero could only think of sharing loot. I'm glad dependence on the crude oil is going to be greatly reduced.
