The fact of the matter is that in resource dependent countries like Nigeria, once the price of the resource you are selling goes down, the amount of dollars you have available to buffer the local currency goes down too.

So the Central Bank hoards dollars to preserve the value of the currency.....until either the price of the resource goes up, or until a SAP-like programme is in place/Austerity.

If Mr Emefiele did not do what he is doing.....we would end up like Zimbabwe.....with a worthless currency, and with other countries currency becoming our currency.

PDP should have saved more when they were in power. But even if they saved everything in sight.....we would be having this conversation next year.(Even good savers like Saudi Arabia who have $600bn in the treasury are tending towards austerity).

And your comment at the bolded is rather funny....especially as Mama was 94 years old. And it was rather crass.
